What's with the red shirt at Columbia?

Pat Coleman

Dunno, but I'm not beaming down to the planet with him, that's for sure.

D Coordinator...bright shirt on the sideline in the sea of baby blue.  Easy for the D captain to pick him up to get signals.  Science.

PBR...

Well at least the story starts out great! Us non-insiders don't get more than a tease. Sounds like a great kid with an excellent head on his shoulders. dlip will definitley be rooting for him!

Insider ain't so inside. Scyocurka is a RB, not a QB.

Yeah, that was a typo, but the rest of the article seems to have gotten it right.  I'd cut and paste the whole thing but that would probably violate some sort of copyright or something :).  The jist of the article is that Scyocurka had offers from BYU and Brown, could potentially have played for BC (he was "on the bubble" there), and had a lot of D 1-AA interest, but chose Williams for the academics.  I've heard Williams has at least one other top-notch RB coming in, and I imagine at least one will get playing time right away considering last year's TB had to carry a heavy burden of nearly every meaningful carry.

Anyone hear any news on how the new coach has been received on campus / by the team, and/or if there will be major changes to the team's system?  Given the very short time NESCAC teams have to prepare for the season, and considering Williams plays Trinity in week two, the playes will have to get up to speed in a hurry ...  fortunately, Williams has a veteran squad returning that will benefit from a lot of young players who got playing time in place of injured upperclassmen last year.

In 2009 Williams led its conference in rushing and had the runningback who was the leading individual rusher in the conference. All of of its 2009 runningbacks are returning. Absent interfering injuries or other unforeseen interference, Williams in 2010 will have the capacity to pound its running game persistently with fresh, high quality running backs comprised of its returnees and incoming frosh.

'Did someone say Williams y'all?'

Unfotunately for Scyocurka with all these great qualities he will never get to be a part of playoff football at Williams. He may be around for a spot of tea though?
