So, please account for all of Division 1, including Ivy League, Patriot League, Pioneer League and other academically stronger conferences, and Divison 3 players that opted to go to schools other than NESCAC schools and were Div. 1 prospects or chose to remain geographically closer to home in Texas or California, for instance.  Your numbers make no practical sense, and you've yet to address that -- it doesn't matter if your analysis is regarding starters or the entirety of the team.

And as for the elitism, just go back and read the first paragraphs of everyone's posts that we can define as "NESCAC posters" -- Frank's post asking for 25 words or less gets exempted because I think he was being sincere.  If you don't like the stereotype, stop participating in it and fight against it when you see it.  I'm not budging from that point because that's what woke this guy today from a lull.

And Frank, for the fifth time, I NEVER SAID NESCAC athletes are in the top 3-5 percent of college athletes.  Stop acting as if I did.  I'll spell it out ONE MORE TIME: NESCAC football starters are generally in the top 3-5 percent, or at worst top 10 percent, of all americans in their age cohort.  That is a huge, huge difference.  I am judging "athleticism" as a term relative to the general population, NOT a subset of the population that plays college athletics.  Of COURSE NESCAC kids fare much, much worse agains that metric!

Frank he is saying that there are very few, if any, starters in the nescac with corny face-masks, big goofy feet, over-sized shoulder pads, unnecessary arm/neck guards, pants pulled up too high, out-dated cleats, half-jersey's, and goggles.  dlip hopes this clears up nescac1's position ;)

What's their plan with Trevor?  Straight-up fullback or something else?

He has to make the team first.

How can someone with Alabama-level talent be worried about 'making' the team at Tufts?

He did not receive an offer from Alabama

Right, but a year ago you were promoting the poor kid as the next Rob Konrad, and now you make a comment that he 'has to make the team first' at Tufts?  Wha Wha Wha?

Frank, I just don't see the same elitism in these posts as you, sorry.  I suspect your own preconceived notions about NESCAC may be coloring how you are reading our posts.  IN all events, it is very hard to accurately read "tone" in a forum such as this, as opposed to in-person contact, so things can easily be misconstrued.

Go back and read what I wrote in my long post where I did some statistical analysis.  I accounted for EXACTLY what you are talking about.  The basic point is, a VERY small fraction of people even play varsity athletics for any college to begin with.  It is you who haven't addressed my figures.  That most college football players are more athletic than most NESCAC players is undisputed.  But college football players make up a VERY small percentage (and generally are among the most athletic members) of the general population of 18-24 year olds.   I can't really restate the point in any more ways than I already have.

That's an old film.

We all are touchy now on this board and not really having "fun" and having good conversations.  Some clarifications are needed here.   In the use of the term"goofy and unathletic",  I am taken it as a "code" expression to refer to a bad football player.  I basically believe that any player that goes to college and decides to devote his body and time to play varsity football to the best of his ability should be given his due.  Players go to particular schools over others for many reasons and go to D3 schools over Div 1 schools for many reasons.....including the chance to play several sports.  Players also quit playing for many reasons.
In the use of NFl as a platform for discussion, I sought "common ground" for understanding.  I seemed to have failed when one post that it is not appropriate because they are paid players.
Yes it will be most interesting to compare Frank Gifford's value to the Giants versus Jim Browns' value to the Browns.  Both were great FOOTBALL players in their time.....and some might say for all times.  But it would have to be elsewhere and another time.

What was/were Trevor's reason(s) for the transfer, though?  What was it about F&M that turned him off, or what was it about Tufts that made what is honestly a giant move (a college transfer) so appealing here?

I guess you'd have to ask him.  Probably too much info to share with the world.  I know missing the entire football season wasn't much fun....but sadly that happens to lots of kids.

I think it's simple...There are way more beautiful babies in Medford than there are in Lancaster.

Since Trevor is NESCAC material now, please define the indefinite pronoun "it" in your response.  Thank you.
