Geez- somebody correct this if it's inaccurate but the attendence in Willimstown today was logged at- "Six hundred and Thirty Two"......hope there were no broken bones jumping off the bandwagon.... Hell, there were more people than that trying to get on camera during the walk down Mainstreet (or whatever it is) when ESPN was in Williamstown a couple of years ago.
Hard to believe a couple of losses would compromise the Mighty Williams Tradition....this attendance figure must be a mistake?? Never thought the Ephs fans were frontrunners like that.
Could it have been a mid semester long weekend at Williams?

I watched the Trinity Tufts game on the internet.  Obviously Trinity has a very talented offensive line that gives their skill players a lot of latitude.  Since we have a full week ahead of us, how about someone weighing in on what would happen if Trinity played Yale this year?

I saw Yale lose big time to Cornell in Ithaca.  Yale started a FY QB that is not ready for prime time, imo.  He had trouble handing off and threw screen passes in a robotic fashion that caused Yale a TD via an interception.  Yale scored after he was replaced. Oh yes, the Yale defense went from a 3-4 to a 4-3 to stop the bleeding. Yale is rebuilding with a new coaching staff.   As good as Trinity seems to be or is.....I feel that Trinity could stay up with Yale for a half.  Yale has more raw talent than Trinity and IF the players progress under their new coaches, they should win.  Hard to say these days.  Army beat Boston College this season.  Then BC went against Florida State this weekend in an ACC game and lost 53 to 7 or something like that.  Maybe Yale is so "bad" this season that Trinity could pull an upset with better coaching and more experienced players at key positions.  Size wise, in the trenches the two teams are even.

play calling

You mean to tell me calling the WR screen 20 times a game for no yards gained isn't working for you?

The last two times a NESCAC (or NESCAC to be) team played an Ivy League team in football, the NESCAC team won each game (in 1953 Amherst 7-6 over Brown and in 1956 Tufts 22-12 over Harvard).

But not so different that Mount Union wouldn't beat the bottom of the Ivy League like a drum.

I have spoken to a couple of FCS coaches who I know very well and they readily admitted that Mount Union would easily beat 50% of the FCS teams.

I would agree with mount union.  But not Trinity.

lumbercat

Mount Union would beat now Ivy league team "like a drum"

lumbercat

Correction on prior post...MT. Union would beat no Ivy league team like a drum.

NESCAC 1 sounds like an apologist for athletic apathy at Williams that I never perceived ....."small town"..... "enrollment less than 2000"...."other things going on on campus".......c'mon, 600 people at at a home football game at Williams with their great legacy of NESCAC championships, are the parents even showing up???....you have to be kidding....just doesn't add up.

My eyeballs continue to tell me that for the last eleven year period during which I have been watching the average football attendance at Williams has been around 1000 when the Amherst, Wesleyan and Trinity games are excluded - 150 parents and other family members of Williams players plus 150 roommates and other student friends of Williams players plus 200 Williams alums plus 150 locals plus 200 other curious Williams students plus 50 for miscellaneous attendees plus 100 for visiting team's fans all arrives at a figure of 1000 minus up to a possible 50% for inclement weather. Incidentally my eyeballs told me last Saturday that the attendance was closer to 1000 than 650.
