....also don't see Williams Defensive Back's Coach from the past 3 seasons Aaron McGinty listed.

Ephparent

Coach Mcginty took another job offer from Rhodes College in Memphis
The ephs certainly will need many of their young players to step up and become impact players if they want to get over the .500 hump this season

AlDavis

..ok...We really liked Coach McGinty after doing the Williams camp last year , he really knows his stuff and could see him moving on up to bigger and better things in the future.

Agreed, Ephparent.  Unlike in most other sports in football it's hard to know who will step up unless you are closely acquainted with the program, since young players so rarely get substantial playing time and since work in the weight room can dramatically change the effectiveness of a player.  Last year's first-year group did seem like it had a lot of talent though.  James Howe at least looked like a future all-NESCAC guy, he should be a star on defense.  The big first-year WR's Colin Brown and Darias Sime both saw some playing time, and Sime in particular I know was highly regarded in H.S.   LB Jack Ryan and OL Charlie Grossnickle also saw quite a bit of action and each made some impact plays.  That group plus I'm sure a few others who have yet to get a chance will all have to make some major strides for the Ephs.

George McCormick is still the Williams head lacrosse coach I believe.  I think he was in a coordinator role last year so it will be interesting to see who takes his spot.  Speaking of Eph coaching changes, I see that Scott Farley has joined the coaching staff!  Hopefully he will bring with him some of the old Farley magic!  Or at the very least, some of the old Farley crusty sense of humor ...

Ephparent

Sime and Brown have the potential to be important players in the ephs offense this year, as stated before though, it all starts in the off season. I strongly believe that there will be some young guns who will make plays for Williams this year, the only question in my mind (at least the most important one) is how will the QB play will compare to the past season--hopefully much better.

McCormick has been the DC for a while now.  So it is official that he is out as DC?

You are right, I was looking at the roster and he wasn't listed at the bottom with the other coaches.  I didn't see the other 'coaches'. Section listed below.

Tufts...your killing me. Ephparent and Nescac1 might have a better feel for the attitude and level of commitment of this years Eph's team overall. I suppose from your vantage point projecting doom and gloom for the Williams program (0-4 start, past Bates blowouts)gives you something to root for.  Tufts finishing 4-4 is not realistic but I hope for all involved they somehow pull it off.  I rather champion success than hop on the Williams (or any team) has no chance bandwagon.  Eph's have many questions to be answered.  QB position is one, O-line is another, a health TB is yet another, there are others as well. Conference champs? Unlikely. But I choose to wish that for them than to pay any attention to what might be one win seasons for other teams.  Wlliams might win 6. Time will tell. Those in the know...know.  The "smart money" will bet 5 or over! It would not surprise me to see the Ephs place 5 or 6 on the all-conference team at seasons end and I will be quick to remind many of you that you heard it here first.

Gr8ful1...I guess it would be safe to say that you are a Williams' supporter :)...welcome aboard.
Do have a question.  Are you part of the Frank U.  "Smart money "?

Trinity's pre-season veteran roster is posted:

http://athletics.trincoll.edu/sports/fball/2013-14/roster

One notable omission is Stephen Goniprow, who led last year's Trinity squad in both tackles and sacks as a Junior.  Trinity does return the rest of its LB group, including two guys who made all-NESCAC and one other who could potentially have, so not an enormous loss.  But one more question mark for a Trinity squad that does have a few others (most notably new QB with little game experience, but also four new starting OL and the loss of two all-NESCAC DB's including the conference POY).  Still think Trinity and Midd are clearly the teams to beat, but both could be vulnerable (Midd due to the uncertainty at receiver and after losing the star lineman).

frank uible

If he were a scofflaw, the Smart Money would place a bundle on Trinity minus 6 1/2 over Bates.

AlDavis

ok Frank , you must know something with 3,951 posts.....Trinity opened at - 5 1/2 and creeped up to - 6 1/2 and will move it  to - 7 with your confidence alone.....Trinity losing Goniprow if true is a big loss though , he was solid contributor.
