Go Continentals!

Hamilton is a much better team this year.  Though they are still a young team, nearly the entire team is back for the 2013 campaign.  The offense was in the middle of the pack last year and is better at every position.  If the defense improves, the offense will score enough to win a bunch of games.  But, that is the question. I predict that the defense will allow fewer points than last year.  They gave up a lot of points so that isn't a particularly bold prediction.  But, with just a little improvement, I think Hamilton could easily win half of their games this year!

Go Continentals!

Weather forecast better.  Like to see a  opening contest on a dry field.  Better team evaluations,IMHO.
Go Cont..... Like your positive outlook.  On a dry field,  Hamilton will not start a winning season today. :)

Williams is nearly finished with the worst half of offensive football I've ever seen from an Ephs' team.  So far, NO first downs, two interceptions, and a safety given up on a punt play.  Colby's defense has played very well, a lot of good, young fast players, they have sniffed out EVERY gimmick Williams has tried.  But Williams has been plagued by the same three problems as last season: poor offensive line play (Colby has absolutely dominated up front), poor QB play, and terrible play-calling.  Colby is putting eight men up and all the dive plays, screens, and passes in the flat in the world are not going to do anything unless Williams can manage to throw the ball down the field in the second half.  Unfortunately, Williams has barely tried to look down the field, and when they do the O-line can't protect and the QB can't put any mustard on the ball.  Ugly.

Williams down big (12-0 with Colby driving), the Williams D has been fine and the Colby offense just OK, but Williams has just been gifting Colby points so there is really nothing more that the D can do without a bit of help.

Williams is Strait Trash.....Zach Padula 100 yard INT to the house right before the half.....Stick A fork in Williams for 2013.

Does anyone know the status of the QB situation in Trinity? Henry Foye is listed as having started, but freshman Sonny Puzzo is the only QB on the stat sheet.

AlDavis, I know you are enjoying trashing Williams, but can your team at least beat Williams for the first time this century before you proclaim this the era of Wesleyan?  I mean, even last year, Williams managed to beat them pretty handily, and Wesleyan has only stayed within one score of Williams once since 1999.  You might regret burying Williams 20 minutes into the season ...

The last play for Williams was atrocious.  All three INT's were poor decisions that you don't expect from a senior QB.  Williams was finally starting to look good on offense and poised to finally score, but that was a back-breaker.  I imagine we may see a QB change in the second half but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much depth at all at that position, so perhaps not.  I don't quite understand how Williams with all its football tradition has not managed to recruit a big-time QB since the class of 2011 (and NO QBs in the frosh class), when for the prior decade, Williams had elite guys at that position almost every year. You can bring in all the WR talent in the world (and the Ephs have plenty) but you need someone to get them the ball.  Hopefully Williams will figure out a solution with the guys they have on the roster.

Feel bad for the Eph defense which has played very well.  Colby has been handed basically all of its scores on a silver platter.  Again, the Colby defense does look much improved, but Williams has to play much smarter football.

AlDavis

you are 130 years correct....that's why 2013 is so exciting seeing the transformation...I have seen it and clearly stated it.

No doubt, the Ephs looked very ugly and discombobulated in all aspects today.  Hard to imagine they can play any worse, but hard to be optimistic playing at Trinity.  Still, there is enough talent on the Williams team to play a heck of a lot better, and I hope Eph pride will kick in and they will turn things around.  It's a long season ...

Final score from Brunswick, a town that lost power in the 2nd quarter:

Middlebury 27
Bowdoin 5

I have decided I don't like football without a scoreboard in the stadium.

Trin9-0

That seat must be getting VERY hot for Aaron Kelton. After beginning his tenure with an undefeated season (with players he didn't recruit) the Ephs have gone 5-3, 4-4 and now open 2013 with an embarrassing loss to Colby. Considering the huge investment the College and it's boosters have made in the facilities I can't imagine they'll tolerate another .500 (or possibly worse) season in Williamstown.

The story from Lewiston is that Foye came in off the bench to spark the Bantam offense and lead to the comeback victory. Also heard that Cede Baca did not play for Trin.
