ok. Amh63 thank you but am stronger in more respects than that bro......I did take notice I have a couple more Karma Points but would like more please......I was on a Sturgeon Class Fast Attack and  yes we had more shielding than the Russian Subs but my TLD would still register some juicy Radiation stats over time....but my reference to Radiation was to the fact that twice we did tours in Murmansk Naval Base area , sometimes at Periscope Depth , keeping an eye on their 6 Typhoons that could destroy the world over and over and sleeping next to some Nukes with Russian City Names on it....so being Politically Correct by not using certain words is way over-rated when compared to toting around Nuclear Weapons......so now what everyone , whats the word , so very quiet I can hear the Crickets and more Crickets.....give me something to chew on people as I sit around all day for this Stupid Red Sox Game.

What boat were you on Bubblehead Al?  I did three years on the USS Flying Fish as a torpedoman, got out as a TM2/SS and I know what you mean about TLD/Film badge readings.

Hey Knightstalker.....USS RAY SSN-653 , 1984 to 1990 , Charleston SC , was just a lowly EM3/SS and then even lower than that , but was always qualified my highest watch station , which for me was Shutdown Reactor Operator....our E-Div was a salty , rebellious group as there was no chance for advancement in that time period with the generous Re-Enlistment packages the Navy was doling out at the time for Nuke's.....looking back though as I joke with my kids sometimes , be very , very afraid that I was a Shutdown Nuclear Reactor Operator on the Midnite Watch , very , very scary.....I wasn't one of those snobby Nukes , I was very tight with all the Forward people , especially TM's.....Most Importantly with all the trouble I got into , My Captain Loved me , but all that ended when the new Captain came.

Knightstalker

I got out in 84.  I was also qualified for my highest watch stations.  Chief or the Watch underway and Belowdecks watch in port.  I was also qualified as duty section leader but need to be an E6 before actually being able to be section leader.  We probably followed some of the same Commie rat bastards while up north.

First 2 years was school and I did not get to the Ray until 1986 , and definitely you know what I am talking about , and people don't realize those Cold War Years where locked and loaded with more Nuclear Weapons than are current NESCAC football players....But I salute you Brother and the stories we have are Epic and the Truth.....NightStalker who is your NESCAC team that you root for.

I don't have a favorite NESCAFE team, I attended NJCU back when it was Jersey City State and they disbanded the football program about 10 years ago.  I just follow the East region in general and root for whoever wins the NJAC, then whoever survives in the East after that.  At least you weren't a Steely Eyed Baby Killer of the Deep boomer puke.

ok....TorpedoMan....I see you with a little trash talking with the NESCAFE..... but you can root for Wesleyan then as I know you would like this team as they have many important New Jersey players on the roster........and all this talk today of Radiation and Nuclear Weapons is a great Segway for me to start pinging the Williams Game next week as Williams better have plenty of TLD's as the Effing Eff's will be exposed to plenty of Radiation .......and where I come from we have Running Clocks and when the score gets out of hand the Running Clock runs , not sure if NESCAC does Running Clock , if so then the exposure to this type of Radiation the Effing Eff's face would be reduced.

You'll former submariners do have colorful expressions and strong feelings/bias :)
I am very familiar with "snobby nukes", etc. I dealt more with the bigger/newer fast attack sub skippers.  Yes, my work experience was primarily with the Trident Class Boomers from '80 thru 2000.  My office had pulled out of Charleston, S.C. ...workwise when the Trident class boats were being delivered...so never crossed paths with you AlDavis.  Was an civilian worker...DOD Acq. Manager.. in SP, SSP for 20 years designing, testing, producing all sorts of weapon components for the Navy Strategic Arm. Built facilities on the West Coast, Conducted tests at Cape Canaveral, and elsewhere.  It was fun times.  Still, hats off to the boys riding/working in the boats.  Now you guys know more than most of the friends I have. :)

...see Amh63 I told you weeks ago if you met me , you would like me...but you being Amherst and some others here being Williams and now my inherited enemies that this is strictly business rooting in this Little 3 , beating Trinity and et all.....no Little 3 since 1970 , so in my opinion this is how it should be with rabid fierceness......all that being said I am sure you are an Outstanding Guy.....my Captain was P.H Lawless and when I was onboard we had a Jr Officer who went on to become a decorated Submarine Captain and is now some sort Fleet Admiral  who you might know then is Randy Crites.

We had a Jr. Officer on board the Flying Fish that left right before I reported whose name was Jonathon Greenhart (sp) he is now the CNO.  We had another officer who was my division officer who also made Admiral and was Commodore of SubDevGroup 12, that was David Gove.

looking to get a bet set between some Midd and Trinity parents.  What is the feeling on the spread between these teams?  My thought is Trinity as a 10-14 point favorite.  Thoughts?

Mr. Al Davis:

Look forward to meeting you Saturday. I am easy to find. End zone at Feed The Bears tailgater. Find the car with the grill attached to the back. Ask for the owner of the car. Then enjoy the conversation. Before the game. Halftime. After the game. Or all three. But not during the game, I like to watch.
