No Berkshire Eagle story and no Williams College press release relating to the Raymond hiring - yet. Has there been a glitch in the process?

Frank, from my experience on the periphery of the Bowdoin search, these are the world's worst kept secrets and the colleges' announcements often lag significantly when it becomes "common" knowledge.

It's official:

Am I reading this right?  Six years ago, Coach Raymond was finishing up a three-year stint as a special agent with the Secret Service?

That is an unusual career path to say the least.  I never heard of this guy until yesterday, so I don't know if he has a reputation as being a "players' coach" or not, but, either way, I would advise current Eph football players not to trifle with their new coach!

You did in fact read correctly.  Sounds like a bad-ass.  "You have a rendezvous with my a**, mother*****!"

I'll do it for you.  You can pay me back later.  And I think I will be watching In the Line of Fire on Netflix this weekend.   ;)

He's an extraordinary players' coach, and that's been his appeal at St. Lawrence.  The keys to his success are a combination of that and the ability to appeal to a much more diverse set of players nationally than what had been coming through St. Lawrence before.  Like John Audino in the early and mid-2000s was able to do at Union, Raymond helped get the school to buy into the win-win situation such recruiting would accomplish.  Based on our encounters with his best players over the last few years on "In the HuddLLe," those players have been true assets to their school community -- not just the playing field.

Coach Raymond is a huge "get" for Williams, and the Eph community will need to give him a couple seasons to get his methods and process fully in place.  Have patience, and I think you'll be as impressed as we have been in the Liberty League over the past six years with his will to win and appeal to players.  Congratulations to Williams.

And he typically out bench presses his players so yes, don't mess with Coach Ray 😉

I have a feeling no one in Willytown will dare date his daughters.  They will be two lonely girls.   :'(

You got your +k back, Polar Cat.  I wish I said that first.

The key bit of info wrt his background is that he is a former defensive coordinator.  The HC of Amherst brought that qualification when he was selected as the HC.

jumpshot

No amH63 the key information is that he is competent in his sport, understands Williams values, and is a winner!

IMO, the Williams fan/ poster may have gotten too personal in his directed post.  Therefore as my policy...will openly declare to  smite the poster.   Do however have several questions for him...after "dissing the previous football HC selection commitee"....just what are the "William Values" you are referring too??
Are they different from the rest of the present Nescac schools? Wrt Football?

frank uible

Williams Values are being in the boonies and loving it!
