Joebag-
Thanks for weighing in with Devanneys side of the story. No rfelection at all on you Joe but
Let me make the facts known. Bates had 7 healthy guys on the DL and they were all rotated  in and out for the entire second half with the game out of hand. Harriman emptied his bench. Bates is not 3 or 4 deep like the mighty Bantams with a 65 man roster and Devanney knows that well.

I gave Devanney an earful following the game and had some regrets thinking I let
my temper get the better of me as we drove home. Bates got their ass kicked like I haven't seen in a long time and I was thinking I should have bit my tongue.

However, after hearing Devaaney's spin on the whole thing I'm glad I did.

In 40 years of NESCAC football that the most classless display I have seen and Devanneys "justification" is a joke.

Like I said. I did not agree, but I do not get a vote.
I would have taken a knee.

Devaney is real intense dude, but I am happy my son is part of his program and having a chance to make an impact on the team this year. You had every right to get in his grill on this and should not feel any regret.

I have first hand knowledge of several stories about his compassion WRT making a difference in some of his players lives. He is the difference maker in this program. One thing I can tell you about this guy is that he is sticking his neck out to change the trajectories of many young men.

With all of this said, I am pretty sure he regrets not taking a knee on the last play of the game last Saturday.

This is my first post and this classless act by the Trinity coach is what brought it out. I too was in the stands and was just amazed. I had a Trinity parent tell me that I don't know what is happening on the other side and this was the one opportunity for some third stringer to score a TD. What is amazing is how people try to justify such a classless act. Glad you had the guts to get in his grill because it was one of the most disgusting rub it in your face acts that I have seen in my several years of watching NESCAC football. What you failed to point out is that he showed class when they were up 45-0 or so at halftime by kneeling down for the last two plays to run the clock out so this was clearly a deliberate, ill-advised and classless act by the coach. He should be ashamed of himself and so should every parent on his sideline. Dispense with the back patting about how he is making differences in the kids lives because every coach makes a difference in one way or another. What difference did he make in their lives by this BS demonstration of pettiness.  Not positive. And as you have aptly pointed out Bates does not go 4 deep and Harriman was rotating his players throughout the game.

Concerning running up the score there are a bunch of possible reasons, pro and con. Generally the cons are greater in number and better.

Nice post Nescacman! Well said. Plus K
Daughter in Central NY tells me there is possibility of FROST!   Fall is arriving quickly.  Hope this will be a colorful FALL.  OOPs...leaf raking chores ahead.  Brought home a selection of Cornell "developed" apples.  Great resource to the USA being done by the University in Ithaca.....saving apple heritage and creating new types.
Anyway....it is time to play some College Football in Fall weather!  Rain or shine.

The last touchdown was eclipsed by the social media post of 7 Bants,  standing in front of the Garcelon Field scoreboard after the game, pointing at the 51-0 score and smirking.  Never thought I'd see such a low class display of poor sportsmanship in the CAC.

For the next 6 Saturdays, my favorite team is whoever is playing Trinity.  Would love to see those punks finish 7-2 with no share of the championship.

It is not the Trinity player's fault. Why wish them ill?

Grabowski

anyone else having issues with the Hamilton live stream?

Are you saying someone else forced those players to pose for the photo, then posted it on social media on one of the players accounts?  Come on, Frank.

Trinity is clearly the big bully on the street.  Only way to stop a bully is to beat them down.

ColbyFootball

Colby D playing tough yet again with little help from the O. They will get worn down as usual. I am so sick of Michaeles and his pathetic offense. Please, keep the excuses to yourself. It's a joke.

PolarCat

The Bobcats found two ingredients in the second half that have been missing for at least the last 3 years:  the intestinal fortitude to throw the ball on first, second and third down, and a FY QB who can execute.  There is hope in the Dirty Lew.

In other news, Tufts McDonald can scramble like Kenny Stabler.  Fun to watch.

2 TDs for Colby in 3 games. The players can draw up plays on the turf next week and do better. Michaeles is the HC so the buck stops with him. Fire him now. This is a s--t show, and the players and families deserve better.

JEFFFAN

Does anybody from Amherst know why Foy is not playing?

amh63

JEFFFAN.....my educated guess is Foy was NOT needed for today's game.  More as a cautionary step.  He was dinged last week on a run to the sidelines.  He moved around and made cuts later on the sidelines.  He was dressed today.  In the 4th quarter, a new QB...soph...was put in.  Morales was Kept out also and I believe he was not at the game.  Announcer so noted.  Backups on line, etc. put in the game late.  It was the 3rd TB used along with Hickey in a run, run offense.
Bowdoin played a solid game but was worn down on defense in the second half.  Amherst missed three FGs...two long ones.....all to the right it seems.  Expect other kickers will tryout as the Amherst's kicker is a starting DB/safety....as you may know.
Big game next week....Midd comes to town.  Expect Foy to start next week...more experience.

Williams is back!  Holding big bad wolf Trinity to 17 points?!

AMH63 u didn't even mention my boy got an INT today.

Wish could be there for Middlebury game.

Watched a touch of the Colby game.  Very young team but game till the end.  The Midds will be tough out for Amherst if we don't put pressure on their QB.

Hickey looked great for us.  Our QBs are throwing well with time in the pocket.

First real test coming up!
