Vandy74...met the author of the comic strip "Fox Trot" that you like so much.  All grown up now with a son at Amherst.  Was at the game with his parents in our tent area by the fieldhouse.

amh63...that's very cool. 8-)  I am a bit jealous. :(

It looks like the second longest home winning streak belongs to Amherst with 21 consecutive home wins from 2011-2015. Trin and Midd always seem to play great games; Saturday should be no exception. Go Bants!

Trin8-0.....Ouch!  Noted a 17-10 win over Colby on that list.  That should give A Colby poster a lift.
That listing took a effort to do and makes my point that this board may reach 900 pages in this the first 9 game season.  Two plus K's for the post and because you have nice twins :)
Have to wait 24 hours for your 2nd K.

It's a profoundly sad day when a 17-0 loss to anyone should give Colby a lift. but, that is the reality. lol.

What Colby needs to stop doing is making excuses. Everything from injuries, kids transferring, can't recruit in Maine and on and on. And they need to stop taking consolation in losing close games like last week. The Hamilton game bottom line is that we lost to one of the lower ranked teams after taking a 17-0 lead, and 24-21 lead into half time. For all the progress we may point to offensively last week, we were shut out in the second half.

And winning 2 games against the lesser teams in the league, which is all we can realistically hope for this year, should not be acceptable. Winning starts with a winning attitude, not acceptance of a close lose, unless it's mixed in with a respectable number of wins. It's time to face reality and get that program turned around.

Colby has a very predictable offense and puts its better players on defense,   they have a lack of speed and an very average QB.   So,  you change coaches,  or allow 3-5 kids who have 0 business being there in.  Whenever any one of the Maine teams has been successful,  its always revolved around having some 'dudes' on the team that can be true difference makers.    If I were the coach up there,  I would ask admissions for a restructuring of tips.   goalie,  center in basketball,  or QB.   You need to allow some very low tips.   It happens at institutions that are supposedly more difficult to get into other,  Colby should do the same.

A sort of "hump day" football trivia post.
Asked an athletic staff member when new UA football uniforms may show up for the football players. Got the following responses:  It is an expensive item, especially since the present ones are relatively new.  Stopped using red color Gatorade drinks since it is hard to get the stains out of the white pants
Would I care to paid for the new UA uniforms.
Tufts does not use NSN to stream their games.  Have a great sports coverage team also in Basketball.  Not aware if Tufts has a film related course.  Wes Un. does have a film type major.  Amherst's Head MBB Coach has a son that took such a major at Wes.
The new Baseball facility was dedicated over Homecoming weekend.

amh63: It's possible you've seen this, but Under Armour has been dealing with some business headwinds of late, with layoffs and a ``sabbatical'' by one of its top executives. It's always possible that something like this is affecting the company team business, as well. (Or it could just be that the Steph Curry contract has emptied the coffers)

I mean, there's winnowing at every step of the pipeline, right? Maine has maybe 800 senior HS football players a year? How many of them can we expect one college (an academically elite one at that) to get?

Under Armours team apparel business is growing and doing well but this is a small part of their over- all business. They are underperforming with Footwear and retail  "athletic leasure" wear which is huge.

From a team apparel standpoint they are pretty solid as they continue to add some big time college programs for all sports like UCLA and they have also secured the Major Leaugue Baseball contract which begins in the next couple of years.

I guess the Curry shoe was not well received which has hurt footwear sales and causes a significant drag on their overall results.

Besides Bates and Amherst not sure if any other schools have signed with UA. Beleive all others are with Nike.

Not surprised the Amherst parents can't figured it out... only kidding only kidding.

Will never forget getting waxed in the Coop 45-7 in 2012. Worst game I ever participated in. That team came ready to play from the first snap. We were both 5-0 and they dominated us.

However, I was on the team that ended "the streak" in 2014. We had revenge on our minds and boy was it sweet.

Heres to Trinity on an incredible accomplishment... and here's to Middlebury knocking them off in Vermont just like they did 27-24 in 2013.

I will be up at the game for our Homecoming. Can't wait. Cheer. Boy. Cheers.
