ColbyFootball, my son and I were talking about the NESCAC season while he was home over Thanksgiving.  We had a lot to hash out after his first season.
When the topic turned to Colby football, he commented that while playing against them this season he wondered why they weren't any good, they had good athletes....

...So there's that.
Your son is a sharp young man to see that and ask that question. I hope the powers at Colby have rid themselves of the reason. The players and everyone else associated with the program deserve more.

The Colby players received official word. Michaeles is out. As of now, all of the assistants are still in place, but I'm sure that will change. I hope the new HC keeps DC Dexter. He's an excellent coach, and a good guy.

For any Ivy League followers out there, just received word due to renovations at the stadium, the Harvard Yale game will be played at Fenway Park next season.

With Michaeles out, what will this board have left to discuss???  Might as well just shut it down.

ColbyFootball

The AD just sent a letter to all players and families. Michaeles resigned. The national search will begin immediately. I have a feeling the AD has someone in mind as another poster previously suggested.

Shut it down? Now we really have something to talk about. This is cause for celebration on Mayflower Hill. Finally the weight may be lifted off this program. I have a good feeling about this AD, and the support of the President, and the future of this program.

Interesting with so many head coaching jobs open in the Northeast....Holy Cross, Colby, Emdicott but all seems quite on all fronts...

I agree- sometimes you need something to happen at one of the schools and then things begin to flow.
Despite those openings being rumored some are official and some have yet to be announced. I think some are waiting to see what transpires at other schools who may still have changes pending.

A little like Chip Kelley situation- things were on hold to a certain extent until he made his move.

I know the word is the Holy Cross AD intimated he would have his HC by 12/1 so we will see.

I think recruiting issues like ED and EDII also come into play. When is the best time to make a move—I think that answer is typically different in D3 as opposed to higher levels.

Been away from this board...see it is still rolling along.  Several random comments.
Gridiron...thanks for the info.  Been to the Harvard, Yale, Cornell, UPenn stadiums.  Remember when the Patriots...early, early days..played in the Harvard Stadium.  Am curious wrt to the renovations.  Most Ivy stadiums rarely are filled these days.  On the other hand, the iconic/ renovated Fenway Park owners have been doing a fine marketing job.
Coaches....the possible new HCs in the Nescac.  Wonder if any Trinity assistants will be approached.  Trinity "alums" do have success rebuilding programs.  Hope they stay away from Amherst.

Aaron Kelton is OUT at Shorter. Wonder if any of the local openings give him a look...

nescac1

Eagle322, I think the answer to that one is pretty obvious ... (at least, regarding head coaching openings.  I'm sure that he will get an assistant job somewhere, but my guess is that it will be at the D3 level).

nescac1 - sorry, my trolling is hard to convey over the internet.

Good morning to everyone. I enjoyed following the 2017 seaon from West Palm Beach Work Release ( which is technically still prison ). I have 3 months left. As some of you know I vanished April 2014 from this board as I was somewhat unfairly surrounded by 60 FDLE officers who wanted to serve me 14 felonies from Racketeering , money laundering , extortion , collecting illegal debts , conspiracy this and conspiracy that and yes ofcourse Bookmaking as I had a website in Costa Rica. I can assure everyone as all those that personally know me that I come with the highest of Best Regards and worthy of my name and handshake. After catching up on so much , I would like to thank some who gave me positive feedback and considerations like Nescacman , Lumbercat , 4 More Years and others like Middhoops on 10/21/16 with a great post nailing me perfectly as poster. I certainly was not run off the board like westcoastdad speculated or my son being cut. ( my son eventually made a very , very  , very poor decision which I still do not know exact details on which caused him to be expelled after his Junior season , which I feel if I was not in prison , would bot have happened ). The Wesleyan coaches loved me and was so honored to partake in their celebration late into the night the day we beat Amherst in 2013 in which I had the spread exactly on. I despair that my son let these Wesleyan people down as the 2013 season was some of the best days of my life....anyways I look forward to get going and "Just Win Baby" is in as always , all the time...I started the Nescac lines in 2013 and plan to bring them World Wide this upcoming season as to Be the Man you have to Beat the Man...and yes I rooted for Trump during the elections which was very , very , very dangerous in a Florida Prison....Top of the Morning to Frank U.
