DC 53.......you are correct...plus K to you.  Boy....Cannot count too!  The 25th is on Sat.  An Amherst coach tweeted on the 20th that there were 5 days to go.
JoeBag...plus K to you too!

Been watching this board for a long time--Can't we get more focus on, and information about,  the "stronger" and more interesting teams in the league, rather than all this attention to the very weak sisters?  Seems very out of proportion, and not worthy of the attention.
Not sure I understand this.
My team is "less than Trinity"  and "more than ...Maine".
So does Midd get less attention than Tufts by your measure?

Perhaps try reading a bit more carefully—

-K.  Bold move for a guy with 2 posts to talk unwarranted smack to a long-time contributor.

As others have pointed out, there is no filter here, and no agenda.  Anyone who wants can post anything they want.  If you want to see more posts about Wes, you need to get Wes fans more involved on the board.  Grabowski is about the only card fan I can recall who posts here regularly (though I may be forgetting someone).  If you have in fact "been watching this board for a long time", surely you know that?

Make some noise for your team, don't wait for someone else to do it for you.

I'm always amazed at people who complain about the content that appears at a place where they have control over the content that gets posted.

The posters on this particular board strike me as exceptionally knowledgable, so I'm sure they could jump into a conversation about any team and speak intelligently on it. Post some engaging conversation starters about those programs you want to hear more about, maybe you'll get a response. Or, just keep complaining. See which one gets you the result you want

Wow—another one who doesn't read very carefully and jumps to conclusions.  I never mentioned a specific school, and only said that there's disproportionate emphasis (recently) on the weak sisters.  I have no particular access to info on any of the teams, but would like to learn more.  Wish I did have something worthwhile to share, but that's not the case.

CardFan,
I think the obvious answer to the disproportionate focus on the "weak" teams is simply due to to new coaches, excitement over possible positive change and eternal hope of a new start. Stronger and more established teams and fans don't hinge on the "what-could-be's" of the next 9 games. The stronger teams wait for concrete results. It's like being a Detroit Lions fan: the best day of the season is draft day when we can live out a fantasy until the reality of the season starts and all hopes are dashed.
Personally, I can't wait for my first season of NESCAC football to finally begin so we have better things to talk about. Lookiby forward to an interesting season.

Nah, I read it perfectly well. You're complaining, and it's silly. There's not a disproportionate emphasis on anything, because there's no proper proportion the board should be following based on standings, or popularity, or anything else.

So do what all of us do when we want to learn something about a topic we have no existing knowledge of. Research it. This message board isn't the only place to find out information about these teams

Brings to mind the legendary Al Davis.  I've got my head on a swivel, hoping for his return...

FWIW it feels like an important year for the Cards if they want to maintain/build upon top half status in the league.  One bright spot, IMO, is that LB Morris is one of the best players I've seen in NESCAC.

Grabowski.....your input caught my attention.  In particular, the Wes LB from Fl., comment.  Yes, the young man had great defensive stats in his two yrs.....and looks like he should be recognized soon.  However, Wes had an offensive star that gardnered all the honors, it seemed last season...and the spotlight.  The Nescac defensive Linebacker star last season was an Amherst player...Yarmin....a possible All- American this year.
Could you expand on your LB comment?

And let's not forget about me posting something negative about the former Colby coach, causing several people to attack me in posts. That takes up a lot of oxygen on this Board. Naturally, I'm being lighthearted. It's almost a new nescac football season, reason for al of us to be happy. I for one can't wait to see how things shake out.

63:  I only saw Yamin (sp?) one game, but that was plenty to see why he got accolades.  Not sure what else to say about Morris except that he's fast and he hits!  Turned the tide of the Tufts game in particular last year with a big thump.  He is a high motor, all over the field type player.

Back on the subject of other Wes commenters, don't forget NESCAC Man! He (they?) does (do?) a lot to keep info flowing here, at least once the season gets going.

Caught an interesting football text on the Hamilton football website today.  It cited that first practice is in an hour.  Twitter dated the 23rd of August.  Aware that Hamilton's  Orientation started last week....posted the point.  Aware that most other Nescac practices will begin next week.  Whst is up in NY state??  How many pre season practices can a Nescac football team have?  Hamilton seems to have a lot of assistant coaches listed.
Can any posters clarify?  Is their a number limit or time limit wrt football practices?  Just want the facts ;D
