This is also the time when accepted students compare financial aid packages and make final decisions. Another factor that plays into the recruiting Wars between the nescacs schools.

NESCAC recruiting classes can be announced starting Wednesday; here's another one to add to Trinity's list of commits (now unofficially at 23):

Charlie Ducret, DB/WR 5'11", 170, Greenwich High, Greenwich CT
Greenwich is one of, if not the, top programs in CT and the reigning Class LL (largest school classification) state champion. They're also coached by former Bantam, John Marinelli '09.

Tin8-0,  Impressive list to date.  Will have to ask my sister-in-law to look into the QB recruit from Winter Park, Fl.  Nice size!  Just kidding here a bit....my sister in law in Winter Park is not much of a sports fan :).  Wait, her next door neighbor is a Texas A&M grad and his wife is a former UNC cheerleader.  Watched several Super Bowl games with them since my in laws do not have any TV coverage...I know...strange.  Might have their neighbor give me a local scouting report/assessment.

Trinity Prep in Orlando is coached by former UCF HeadCoach and Pittsburgh Steeler QB (was TerryBradshaw's backup), Mike Kruczek. So I know that Fetter received some great QB coaching during his high school career. Trinity is 3a in Florida, so one of the smaller classifications, but this kid was first team Allstate in that Division. I don't care what classification you play in, if you make 1st team all state in the state of Florida, you are a damn good football player.

I think this was a great grab for Trinity. Appears he had some interest from a few Ivy's which is the case with 75% of all NESCAC players.

Wesleyan grabbed a DB this year out of Orlando as well who is a playmaker, albeit from one of the smaller private school classes, Lake Highland Prep.

Good to know my boy won't be the only Central Florida kid heading that way in a few months!

I've seen him play, having 3 step-kids at TPS. Kind of funny to see a Trinity Prep kid end up at Trinity College (I grew up in the Hartford area, so while I liked TC, it was way too close to home to consider). Even the school colors are the same. My daughter goes to LHP, but I wasn't able to get to a game this fall. I have connected with Coach Bullock at times (a former D3 guy), and think he's done a nice job with their program. Word is they are changing their offense to triple option this off-season.

For those who are interested in this sort of thing; a new logo for Wesleyan athletics will be announced soon. The change makes sense given how similar the current version is to the Arizona Cardinals. I've seen the new logo and it's not a huge departure, stylistically, as it's still a cardinal head in front of a large W. However, the bird itself is a bit more cartoonish and "fierce" looking and the W is has been updated to a thinner, and slightly more rounded font. To me it looks less like a cardinal than the current bird, but it's not a bad logo and at least it's now unique to Wesleyan. I would imagine this version will end up on the Cardinals' helmets this fall.

This effort is a part of a University-wide initiative to update Wesleyan's visual identity. An updated academic seal, monogram, and wordmark were released in the fall (although the monogram was later revised through a redesign contest after the initial version received significant push-back from alumni and the campus community).

Thank you! Yes my younger son will be playing for Wesleyan. He is a good sized NESCAC lineman at 6'3" 255. My older son played linebacker at Amherst but unfortunately had a serious high ankle injury during the camp of his sophomore season. It lingered his entire sophomore year (and he still struggles with it) and speed was his thing. So he hung up his cleats! Not a bad thing though as he has used the new found freedom to study abroad this semester in Amman, Jordan and working for the Jordanian National Anti-Terrorism and Extremism Department. The doors NESCAC schools open up are truly amazing! It's why I sent both my older boys 1000 miles away from Florida to get their educations!

So while forever a MAMMOTH fan, my allegiance is shifting to Wesleyan for the next 4 years! I really am impressed with Coach DiCenzo's passion and how well they take care of the football players. I have a 12 year old son and football/baseball player. Holding out hope he can land at Williams one day so I can pull off the very unique "Little 3" tri-fecta!

Bowdoin started tweeting the names of its recruits today at @BowdoinFB. It will be posting 5 names a day so willl take 4-5 days before we have a complete list . . The names are also posted on instagram at @Bowdoinfootball

Not sure if previously reported but this Texas QB is headed to Amherst.  Looks like another strong addition to an already-loaded QB depth chart.

It's interesting how different programs handle the release of their incoming classes. Trinity announced their full class via twitter and instagram with a short video production for each. There's 7 new Bantams that we didn't know about and they didn't include UAlbany transfer, Zach Verdi or Charlie Ducret (perhaps he wasn't a recruit and will tryout as a walk-on?):

Terrance Mathis DL, 6'1", 245, Lawrenceville School, Lawrenceville, NJ
Lucas Turco FB, 6'1", 208, Monsignor Farrell, Staten Island, NY
Jack Jacobson, WR, 6'1", 180, Duxbury High, Duxbury, MA
Ryan Gurney, WR, 6'2", 180, Walt Whitman, Bethesda, MD
Tanner Larosa, RB, 5'11", 180, Southington High, Southington, CT
Juanell Walker, ATH, 6', 210, Episcopal High, Alexandria, VA
JP Dallazem K/P 6'1", 175, Oak Hall School, Gainesville, FL

Christian Anzeveno, LB 6'1" 245, Williston Northampton School, Easthampton, MA
Matt McCarthy, RB, 5'11", 160, Danvers High, Danvers, MA
Joe Lepore DE, 6', 210, Winchester High, Winchester, MA
Michael Masse LB, 5'11", 225 Xaverian Brothers High School, Westwood, MA
Ryan Wiley, OL, 6'5", 270, Mercersburg Academy, Mercersburg, PA
Cade Klarides-Ditria, LB, 6'1", 225, Seymour High, Seymour, CT

William Crowley, S, 6', 185, Bridgeton Academy, by way of Milton High, Milton, MA
Charlie Ducret, DB/WR 5'11", 170, Greenwich High, Greenwich CT

In total, Trin announced 28 incoming Bantams. By position there are 10 listed on defense (3 DL, 3 LB, 4 DB). Another 11 on offense (3 OL, 2 QB, 2 RB, 1 FB, 2 WR), and finally 7 with split designations, or special teamers (3 ATH, 2 TE/LB, 1 K/P, 1 OL/DL). The class includes 20 players from either CT or MA. The other states represented hail from NJ and FL (2 each), and NY, MD, PA, VA (1 each).

It appears the Connecticut NESCAC schools stayed local with their incoming classes. Over 70% of Trinity's class is from either Connecticut or Massachusetts. There's always a large proportion of the Trinity roster from those two states, but last year the Bantam had less than 60% of the roster from CT or MA. Similarly 57% of Wesleyan's incoming class is from CT or MA, while last year those states represented just 29% of the Cardinal roster. The Cardinals announced 21 incoming players.

Much to the dismay of nescacman, I work at Wesleyan so I'll occasionally find out some tidbits on Wes. Speaking of the Cards, they announced their full class of 21 commits via twitter as well:

Denzel Williams, DB, Loomis Chaffee (CT)
Adam Bowler, QB, Arlington H.S. (MA)
Amani Christopher, RB/WR, Great Valley H.S. (PA)
Braden Myers, TE, Montgomery Bell (TN)
Harry LeGoullon, LB, Bedford H.S. (NH)
Jayce Silvea, OL, Merritt Island (FL)
Keith Henderson, DL, Boston College H.S. (MA)
Mason Von Jess, K, Hotchkiss (CT)
Nick Helbig, DL, Fitch H.S. (CT)
Owen Brickley, DB, Plymouth H.S. (NH)
Sam Folse, OL, Noble & Greenough School (MA)
Darreyl Williams, DB, Lake Highland Prep (FL)
Joe Flinn, DL, Dexter Southfield H.S. (MA)
Vin Henrich, LB, Seton Hall Prep (NJ)
Logan Tomlinson, QB, Manchester H.S. (CT)
Connor Marchand, LB, Leominster H.S. (MA)
Ezra Jenifer, RB/LB, Proctor Academy (NH)
Chris Guttman, DB, Kent (CT)
Andrew Carroll, QB, Hanover H.S. (MA)
Jack Bender, LB, Delaware Valley H.S. (NJ)
Michael Thompson, DB, Staples H.S. (CT)

As for the rest of the NESCAC:
Bowdoin, as noted by quicksilver, is announcing 5 commits per day. They're up to 7 announcements (four of them are 6'2" or taller for whatever that's worth).
Colby announced 9 commits of their reported class of 28. They also shared that these players come from 11 states.
Babes announced 5 commits thus far. No word on the total number but they indicated they have players from 9 states.
Tufts announced the first 4 of their commits (all from Massachusetts).
Hamilton announced 4 so far as well.

Nothing yet from Middlebury, Williams or Amherst. In the past I believe they've all announced their classes via twitter so I'd expect to see something official soon.
NESCAC CHAMPIONS: 1974, 1978, 1980, 1983, 1987, 1991, 1993, 1996, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2022, 2023

Perhaps my memory is failing, but I don't recall Williams ever announcing its class via social media, Twitter or otherwise.
