Rooting for Midd but will consider it an enjoyable game if it's as close as nescacman predicts.
40% chance of rain around halftime.  Bantam receivers with slippery hands?  Couldn't hurt the Panthers' chances.

Reid and Girard are beasts....good luck!

Greetings with Best Regards to the Nescac Peoples and even the Williams Humans. It raises my spirits tremendously to know I am still thought of by some. I miss my One Season actively involved rooting in Wesleyan and everything Nescac Football. This is Al Davis and have not been able to log into my old account. I still follow as much as I can as I am still restricted to Palm Beach County which is a not so bad life hanging out from Jupiter to Boca Raton. I work for the "Italians" doing Sales and Logistics for All Star Aggregates in West Palm Beach so those that know me know the Hype is High selling crushed concrete as "Just Win Baby" is always in play as that is all I know. My co-workers son is the starting Corner for Princeton #28 so I get to root that in as they went 10-0 last year. Have a Great Day Everyone and can't wait to catch a game or two next year.

Going to need them more than ever today. We'll see how the new running game develops. Surprising Trinity pick, though, considering the circumstances.

Midd looks like the team to beat so far.

When was the last time Hamilton was ahead of Trinity in the standings after week 3?

Amherst did it again. They have made a habit of winning ugly.  However, with the exception of two 60+ yard TD passes, Amherst consistently shut Tufts down. But need to continue to improve on both sides of the ball.

So much of the "everything is chalk" talk as Middlebury has shot out of the gates with a surprising 3-0 record and what by any definition is a huge lead in the league after only three weeks.   I use the expression "huge lead" because they have beaten two of the teams predicted to be in the top 3-4 in the league going with one of those two - Trinity - a pre-season prohibitive favorite to win it all.   Beating Middlebury and Williams leaves Middlebury in a great position to win it all if they can travel to Amherst and beat the undefeated Jeffs next week.   If they beat the Jeffs, they will have beaten the top three pre-season favorites - Williams, Trinity and Amherst - with Wesleyan and Tufts looking to be the toughest left on the schedule.   Kudos to Middlebury for a great start!

Amherst did today what they seem to do a lot ... sort of plug away during games, not make too many mistakes, and ride senior leadership to wins.   Oberth was okay today, Reagan was terrific, and Kelly and Safford were strong on defense.   Away at Tufts, winning by ten, is a good win.   It is hard to say that Amherst ever passes the eye test if you are looking for spectacular plays, but they are very solid and extremely well coached.   They are always in games.

I would make Middebury favorites next week based on the fact that they have played a far tougher schedule than the Jeffs.   Should be a great game in a early/mid season crucial game, especially for Amherst.

I saw the Middlebury team at Bates last week and they were a lot better than I thought. They killed the Bobcats.

In a word one Joe Willie Jernigan threw the ball as good as any of Ritters past QB's.

Despite speculation to the contrary Ritter always fields a great passing attack and the maturation of Joe Willie speaks volumes to that.

Today they beat Trinity. Trinity has 2 losses- who knew.

Good night Sonny Puzzo wherever you are.

For the record, the last time Hartford State started 1-2 was 1995...

Our observations: inopportune/too many penalties, turnovers and below par offensive line play (leading to QB hurries and challenges running the ball) are the differences for HS thus far in 2019...

It may be been posted previously but I just noticed that Wesleyan starts the season with Colby, Hamilton, Bates and Bowdoin.
After that, they travel a very bumpy road to the finish.  Yikes.

Day after random thoughts as I read the posts...
Nice to hear from Al Davis!
IslandTime...see your son got some playing time.
Middlebury will be a tough out on Sat....glad it will be played at Pratt Field.
Too many mistakes by the Bantams in the fresh air of VT.
Agree with JEFFFAN on the LJs away game win.  Seems Amherst improved/corrected  their special teams play....especially adjusted the kicking game.
Will take an away game Win against a tough opponent.

It's only been 3 weeks but I think we can safely say this year's season is shaping up to be one of the most exciting and unpredictable in recent memory. Trinity at 1-2 with Wesleyan, Amherst, and Williams still on the schedule all but rules them out of championship contention. Wesleyan is 3-0 and quite frankly I would be surprised to see them reach 6 wins, as they have Amherst, Williams, Middlebury, Tufts, and Trinity all on the schedule. Amherst vs. Middlebury this week is a de facto elimination game, but if Middlebury pulls out a win on the road they become overwhelming title favorites with their remaining schedule. The craziest part about this all is that I truly believe Trinity and Williams have the most talent on paper, but they have failed to take care of the business they needed to take care of early in the year. Is it perhaps within the realm of possibility that this year's champ will have 2 losses????
