Holy Cow Hamilton!!!
2 Pt. Conversion ties it 28-28 with less than a minute to go.
Win or lose, Murray's teams never quit.

Hamilton blocks the punt. Followed by a 39 yard FG. 31-28.

Wow.  Clutch 44 and 40 yard fgs in the last five minutes?  I think we have our special teams POTW.

Congrats to the Panthers.  What a year for them ...

Trinity and Williams both rolling since losing to Midd.  Should be a fun battle next week.

MidDay

Bad luck for Wes today — they ran into a buzz saw.

Congrats to Hamilton on an amazing win.

Truly a win to be savored by the Continentals!

amH63 will claim the bus ride was unfair ....

Big win for Hamilton! Refreshing to see more competitiveness. Congrats to the program. Let's see some more of the big dogs knocked down this season.

I think Middlebury has shown they are a very good football team when healthy and running on all cylinders.  In fairness to Wesleyan, today they faced the level of talent the Panthers had competed against three times already.  In hindsight, it seems they were perhaps a bit lucky getting Williams early, but we all know that luck is a huge player in this game. ;D

I think I mentioned in an earlier post that Middlebury fans shouldn't look past Hamilton.  The players won't.  It's not an option in HCOF Ritter's program.  But back to the Continentals, only the Ephs have beaten them convincingly.  They just employed DI football tactics in shocking the LJs.  They needed field goals of 40 and 44 yards and they got them. :o  Let's put this in perspective.  Two season's back PolarCat's son kicked a 40 yard FG.  He was one of just three Nescac kickers to hit from 40+ yards and they did it only five times.  Sam Thoreen is a serious weapon.  Whoever expected the battle for The Rocking Chair to be as intriguing and more relevant to the Nescac conversation than the battle of The Little Three and the Trinity-Wesleyan finale?

It was a beautiful mid-autumn day here in New England on Saturday.  I hope we all appreciate just how lucky we are. ;)

I didn't see much of the second half due to a family commitment, but it seemed to me that having Cosolito, Woodring and Maldjian back made a huge difference.  I hope that the injury report from the the game against Wesleyan won't impact the Bowdoin game and they don't look past the Polar Bears to the Hamilton and Tufts game.  Their RB Nate Richam-Odoi tore the Panthers up for over 200 yards last year and gave them a shot at winning the game.

I didn't see all of the game yesterday, but some of the pre-game superlatives discussed about Wesleyan such as special teams, turnover battle and sacks didn't seem to materialize for the Cardinals.

A cursory look at the stats from the Wes/Midd game shows a pretty complete domination by the Panthers.
The Wesleyan QBs looked very good, I thought.  There were a few big drops by Wes receivers.  One for a certain TD.
The Middlebury receivers were often SO open that it was surprising.  Will Jernigan had a career day, hitting his guys right in their baskets consistently.
Although it was technically yet another come from behind victory (Wes led 7-3 early), the game was never close after early in the 2nd quarter.
In the "Battle of Undefeated Teams", the home team romped.

Midd finishes with Hamilton and Tufts, both teams capable of ending their unbeaten season.

Big time congrats to Hamilton on a dramatic win.  That program is coming around before our eyes.

Pssst. You forgot Bowdoin.

letsgo!

Schedule question. I know this is a new schedule for this season. Does anyone know if they'll be a rotation every year?
