Canvas Hightops

I disagree.
Lumbercat keeps this board going all year long.  And he does it without ever calling attention to himself.

You do realize Hs4-2 that the footer on your posts is totally inaccurate, right?

The NESCAC did not recognize a league champion in football until 2000, so all of those so-called NESCAC championships listed prior to 2000 are fake news...I know as a Hartford State alum that may be tough to comprehend, but you can verify it on the NESCAC website if you wish...

Well, the league was formed in 1971 and Trinity had the best record among league schools in each year that is listed. Sure, you can say that the league didn't "officially" crown a champion until 2000, but I'll stick with the logic that the team with the best record is the champ. If it helps you sleep at night to think that Trinity has only won half of the NESCAC championships in football since they began "officially" crowning a league champion then you can refer to this photo as often as you need:

By the way Nescacman, did you know that Wesleyan has only beaten Trinity in Hartford once since you graduated from Wes in 1986? That's a 1-15 record for Wes in The Coop, ouch! Not that it's been much better in Middletown, as Trinity leads the series 32-5 over that period.
NESCAC CHAMPIONS: 1974, 1978, 1980, 1983, 1987, 1991, 1993, 1996, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2022, 2023
UNDEFEATED SEASONS: 1911, 1915, 1934, 1949, 1954, 1955, 1993, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2022

That is very anti-nescac there Trin8-0.  The league put their standings in alphabetical order until about 1990 or so.

Pat Coleman

They were still listing standings alphabetically when we started D3hoops.com in 1997.

Arguing with Nescacman's rankings is a futile effort. His homerism for Wes is beyond blatant. My personal favorite is that he hammers Trinity for beating up on the Maine schools while losing to real teams. While that may be true, Wesleyan has played identical opponents and thus far...
He's also the same dimwit who thinks a long run should be removed from average YPC but didn't bother to go back and adjust his stats from the previous year by removing any "long runs." His arguments prove to be error-prone and unimpressive and reflect someone who clearly hasn't played the game. Don't put too much effort into rebutting his rediculous rankings or predictions.

Dimwit...really, that's the best you can do?!?  :P

We would expect something a bit more clever from a NESCAC alum....oh, that's right, you went to Hartford State... ;D

Hoping little brother's team beats older brother's team.
Go WES!!!

Can't fly up from Florida to watch the game and hang with my big boys because I am coaching their 13 year old younger brother in our Pop Warner league championship Saturday!

2019 Week #7 NESCACMAN Picks

Welcome to Week #7 iin the league where they "pay to play"....3-2 in week #6....3 good games this week including our GOTW in Hartford...

University of Bates (Lewiston Campus) at Colby College: Other than the 250 or s parents who will be there, who cares? Colby is clearly the best of the worst in the NESCAC and the team to beat this year in the C-B-B...Colby by double digits...

Colby 28 UBates 14
Point Spread: Colby -10.
Weather: Mostly Sunny. High of 53.

Middlebury College at Bowdoin College: No upset this week as MID's magic number moves to 2...HCOF Ritter is more of a gentleman than HCOF Devaney...

Middlebury 45 Bowdoin 10
Point Spread: Bowdoin -24.
Weather: Partly Cloudy. High of 56.

Hamilton College At Tufts University:  First of 3 good games in the NESCAC this week...Hamilton is coming off one of the programs biggest wins in years, however they play much better at home, even when their bus is running...no upset this week..

Tufts 24 Hamilton 20
Point Spread: Tufts -4.
Weather: Partly cloudy. High of 60.

Wesleyan University at Amhurst College: Round 1 in the Little 3...both teams coming off big losses....expect better effort by both teams....Wes gets some key performers back...we think Wes bounces back bigger for a big upset win on the road in a close one...

Wesleyan 24 Amhurst 23
Point Spread: Amhurst -2.
Weather: Partly Cloudy. High of 59.

NESCAC Game of the Week

TTUN at Hartford State: We think Maimaron and Stola have a big day against HS on the road...we'll take the Ephs with the upset on the road...

TTUN 24 Hartford State 21
Point Spread: Hartford State -3.
Weather: Partly cloud. High of 61.

Shamefully horning in on others' efforts, but maybe just this one time we can try a "mini poll".
Two 'games of the week' this Saturday.   Wes at Amherst and Williams at Trinity.
Let's all pick 'em.

I'll take Amherst and Williams.

anyone next.....?

Tough ones Cuz.  I agree with nescac1.  Nothing would surprise me.  I'll take Wes and Trinity.  Loser buys the drinks at Dos Bros.  If we split, Brownie pays.

The only thing I know is that I want in on the Do's Bros!

Hey Vandy74; you know who MidDay is?  Sounds like if we split maybe he'll pay.
Have your people look into this.

You got it!

SpringSt7

I'll take Amherst and Trinity today because they're playing at home and because Trinity is healthier. Also I think I like Bates over Colby despite being on the road--they've had the prior history of winning the CBB and I think they actually have better offensive weapons

ColbyFootball

Hamilton 21-0 over Tufts. Early 2nd quarter. Wow!!!

PolarCat

Am I the only one having problems with the Bates - Colby webcast?  The buffering is horrific.

The CAC really needs to fire NSN.
