Of course it is- whatever those kids posted came from interaction with the coaching staff in the recruiting process.
Are you saying 100+ recruits and their coaches fabricated offers or misunderstood what they were told?

No I'm saying it really shouldn't be a big deal if some kid was told to apply to the school and they had a chance to make the team or a roster spot if they got in.  The tweets don't say much more than that.  That is something that Tufts does regularly for football and Lax.

Had lots of time today so was scanning Nescac news....like the status of Bates' new science building.  Came upon an earlier discussion on the Amherst sports channel....football website.  The asst' AD was having an "open mike" event between fans and the Amherst head coach.  Time frame was the Xmas time period.  Some HC responses to questions included practices with the first years; internet interviews with prospects; smaller number of recruits; allowed squad size for '21 season, etc.  Some interesting points brought up covered a number of the topics brought up by posters here.  Amherst provides football funding for five coaches....leaving three coaching positions funds to be sought elsewhere...like alum/friends of...donations.  Amherst is looking into an endownment fund for those position.  Nescac allows a 3.5 grade average for "recruits".  Amherst looks for a minimum 3.75 grade average and the rigor of courses taken.  Pandemic year limitations have provided more ups than downs.  Check the broadcast out.

Rather than worrying about other schools, if Lumbercat wants to advocate for Colby I suggest that he follow the advice in Matthew7, verses 1 - 5.

All the nescacs do it in most sports but in much smaller numbers- my whole point.

Tufts just announced an upgrade to their football facility. Includes turf, video board, lights, increased stadium capacity and presumably new stands. Tufts is finally trying to catch up with the rest of the nescac and their new facilities.

I believe this would leave Wesleyan's Andrus Field as the lone grass playing surface in the NESCAC.

Was checking around the Nescac wrt graduation info.....like Amherst will hold graduation on the football field.  Likewise, Williams will use its football field.  Williams will allow 6 tickets per grad vice Amherst 2 tickets.  Latest news in Ma.  Mass has opened up it's COVID guidelines. Hamilton has posted that it will have on site football clinics for prospects in June.  Yes, NY state has also opened up it's covid guidelines.
Waiting to see if Amherst will also open up it's campus to football prospect clinics, etc.
Good news...it appears that I can attend the Homecoming game this Fall and break bread with classmates, family, etc.  Note for new posters....my three children are all Amherst alums :).

Scanning the Nescac....Amherst's graduation and other schools'.  Wait!  Williams did not have a graduation...only a celebration?  Seems that the seniors' grades needs to be certified by the higher ups later in June before diplomas can be given??.  So what was in the folders handed out on Monday passed?  Oh well, congrats to the Nescac seniors from an old poster who has been to three such graduations.
Some Amherst football news.  Amherst's website has been updated a bit.  Hope to see if football clinics dates will appear.  Did see a new class of '25 recruit....from a Midwest school.  A big offensive lineman that was recruited by Dartmouth, Brown, MIT, etc.  All-conference, All-Academic, etc.
Presently...6'5", 240#.  Will await early Fall to see the Class of '25 recruits.  Do not have NESCAC 1's skills to list Amherst's recruits.

Former Eph football coach, Frank Navarro, passed away on Sunday at 91.
In addition to his stellar coaching career at Williams, Columbia, Wabash, and Princeton, he also served as a subject in the Norman Rockwell painting "The Recruit":

His .717 winning percentage is 6th all time among NESCAC coaches.
