Former CAC Coach

Interesting "news" on the Bowdoin football website!  There is on the football site, an announcement of the hiring of three new assist. coaches Today.  Going to the normal football site, the info on coaches shows the Head Coach, and 7 assistant coaches....very little info wrt duties.  Bowdoin appears to have 11 coaches...3 more than the norm for a Nescac football staff.  Will await Fall to see how things shake out 8-)

AMH63 -  Bowdoin hasn't updated their football site in a while.  K. Loney moved off fb staff to athletic admin role;  R.Eggerling left a while ago - announced as DC at Southern Connecticut State in Sept.2020.

Amh 63-

Points well taken. The Bowdoin football website is way off- if you want up to date info on the Black and White here it is-

Coach Eggerling is gone- now at So Connecticut.

Eric Weaterfield- DL coach at RPI

Coach Loney- took a front office job in the Bowdoin athletic Dept.

Coach Scola- the last Ohio/Pa guy the Hammer brought in with a lot of hype from his prior gig. A great player at Wabash. Scola has chosen to return to an old position after less than a year in Brunswick. The guy was widely heralded on arrival but must have had a change of heart.

BJ just brought in three new Polar Bear Cub coaches cutting their teeth in Brunswick and they all look good- all believed to be from Hammers old mid American stomping ground and beyond.....PA, TN, TX.

The only dinosaurs remaining on the Polar Bear Staff are esteemed former Bates all NESCAC linebacker McAlister and ex Colby head coach Micheales who works with the receivers.

In contrast to my post here, there is positive news on the Trinity football website dealing with a conference football season this Fall.  A football season is listed and the announcement of two new football assistants.  Seems there will be an alum golfing event too.  Trinity's last game will be with in-state rival Wes.!  This indicates that Amherst will meet meet Williams in Nov.

Good to see the schedule---most times not posted yet however.
Hoping we will see some different wrinkles with additional night games or some late afternoon/early evening starts mixed in.
No complaints however, thrilled to have a normal season upcoming.

Getting excited wrt a conference wide football season!  Homecoming game at Amherst will be with Williams.  Colby football schedule posted.  Seems Colby will play the Little Three schools early in the season...finishing out with the Maine schools.  Will wait late in the Summer to book rooms at Amherst as the family gathers for Homecoming....minus one who is overseas presently.

Anyone know the scoop regarding Devoe (new lacrosse coach) and Amherst mutually parting ways after one year?  Pretty darn unusual for Nescac ...

Football board here.....I would suggest you troll the NESCAC Lacrosse site or maybe D3 Lacrosse

Nice to see the announcement from the Presidents:

Re Amherst lacrosse, the laxforum site does a good job of explaining the debacle.    I know far too much about it because of a vested interest, but suffice to say it was a world class - truly world class - screwup on the part of the Amherst administration.

Ah!  A heat wave on the East Coast....Summer has arrived in Nescac land.  All football news out of Amherst point to a football season with fans in the stands.  Coaches are going to Ivy school camps to look at talent, etc.....visitors are allowed on campus but not indoors presently.  Quite interesting how up to date info on football news vary from school to school.
Ah! Remember summer visits to Tanglewood and visits to art museums in Western Mass......WSJ article today on new show at the Clark Museum in Williamstown.  Will be interesting to see how Conference football coaches handle the "larger" squads on hand in the Fall.  Will "masks" be required during practice?  A sort of plea for football news by all...hopefully positive news.

Still hot in DC/MD!  Checking news around the conference.  At Amherst, via campus cameras...got excited to see guided outdoor tours on campus. Coaches still visiting Ivy football clinics, etc.  Yale clinics today, I believe.  Stay cool and safe everyone.  August is approaching fast :).

Unless there is something I don't know about player departures (very possible!) Middlebury is way too low. I think they should definitely be above Tufts. Williams, Wesleyan, Trinity, and Middlebury seem like they should be in a tier of their own as the clear title contenders and I don't think there is really much between them. But like I said, I have not been tracking enough of the 5th year guys to know for certain.

Trinity announced that Homecoming Weekend will be October 1-3. The Bantams will host Middlebury.
