Great work up on the Bowdoin uniform. The Bears used to have silver-grey pants and trim - almost an Oakland Raider look back in the Polbear73 era.
Would be fun to see your revisions to other NECAC uniform packages but not sure how difficult it is to do.
Thanks for remembering Lumber. Along with the blck B on the shoulders, there were good looking uniforms. Also loved the Colby horseshoe helmets from that era!.

Have seen all the better teams plays and unless Trinity forgets to get off the bus Saturday, they win the title going away. Williams/Wesleyan will be a decent game for second place.

Totally agree Trinity is too stacked on both sides of the ball. Their only problem all year is that they start slow. I dont know if it is because playing down to competition or they know they are going to win. If Devanney and his staff get these kids pumped up and firing at the onset this game could get ugly quick. I fear Trinity will be prepared and if they get up early will force Williams to throw and the front four of Trinity has done great job in putting pressure on QB. Three of the five sack leaders are from Trinity. I know Williams can throw they just cant let the score get out of hand and become one dimensional.

I've actually been working on a few... here's a taste of the rest of the CBB plus what Trinity would look like at home if I had my way:

Trin 8-0;  Fabulous uniform design.  Would you consider a white helmet with the paws?
I did like how the black paw looked on the white lids for Bowdoin but the stripes kinda ruined it for me.

If Bowdoin did decided to wear white jerseys/pants at home it would be cool for them to don all an all white look complete with helmets. They are Polar Bears after all!

Colby had always sported the NESCAC tuxedo of game uniforms going back to the Colt like horseshoe helmet in the 70's.
Cosgrove has done a lot of good things in Waterville with the exception of the uniform and helmet changes.
He removed the classic Chicago Bears C from the helmet and replaced it with Mr. Ed. Also did away with the silver pants.

This year they've got that awful helmet scheme with the number on one side and logo on the other- small numbers on a plain looking jersey--- total JV look.

We all agree uniform stuff is secondary to building the program but they should take a look down memory lane on Mayflower Hill for direction on their uniform design. Bring back the NESCAC tuxedo!

Trinity 8-1

Nicely Done-

Bates staff has actually been toying with a medium grey helmet design with the Garnet Bobcat logo which I do not like. You may see white pants sooner than you think.

As for Trinity I think the white helmet with the Bantam logo is the best move they have made in recent years.

Welsyan should go back to their old Reds.

Tufts back to the Tennessee "T" on the helmet. Their current helmet looks like an urban graffiti design.

Williams- just change everything, anything is better than their entire current Uniform package.

Amherst- great, clean look- total class. They should get a third jersey for THE GAME with the Princeton stripes on the sleeves but that's tough to do because sleeves are very short or on non existent on todays jerseys.

Middlebury- Im in the minority but they always look blah to me. Michigan helmet is just that, it's for the Maize and Blue.

Some surprising takes this morning! While Trinity certainly can win, I'm not as confident as you both appear to be. I agree the Bantams have been slightly more impressive than Williams (with the exception of the first half last week), but remember the game is in Billsville, Maimaron is a senior, and I just feel like it's easier to run when you have a good running game than it is to pass when you're a good passing team.

Of course, Williams needs to find a way to match up with Girard and Reid. But if the Ephs can force Trinity to try and win by running the ball it could mean problems for the Bants. Curious to see what the Nescacman spread will be for this game but I'd have to imagine it's pretty close to a pick 'em.

Was saving this for a rainy day but because the game has started to be mentioned a little bit---Raymond kind of has Devanney's number.

With the obvious caveat that every year is different and each team is different, especially after a year off,

2019:
Trinity Average Offense: 384.3 yards per game
Trinity Scoring Offense: 30.8 points per game
vs. Williams: 256 yards, 15 points (L)

2018:
Trinity Average Offense: 464.3 yards per game
Trinity Scoring Offense: 36.0 points per game
@ Williams: 436 yards, 16 points (L)

2017:
Trinity Average Offense: 413.3 yards per game
Trinity Scoring Offense: 33.9 points per game
vs. Williams: 275 yards, 17 points (W)

There are plenty of caveats and explanations that are probably fair and worth bringing up if I was a Trinity fan but it's interesting to see that for 3 straight seasons the best offense in the league has been held to 16 points a game.

The stats and all are interesting, but let's face it, the game will be won or lost based on who looks prettiest running onto the field.

Trin's white helmets are beautiful. I just feel like they should be gold.

Bates with a grey helmet sounds just awful.

I think Wes made the right decision moving away from their outdated maroon jerseys/helmets and grey pants. They now just need to incorporate more red.

I liked the new Jumbo on the Tufts helmets but hated the grey color and the fact that it faced backwards. A white lid with a scaled down version of the Jumbo facing front? Sign me up! The Tennessee "T" belongs to the Vols. No poaching!

I would LOVE to see Amherst with the striped jersey. Michigan pulled off something similar a few years ago but should have just stuck with numbers rather than the giant "M"

Middlebury losing the winged helmet would be sacrilegious.

Haha, well done nescac1!
If this were the case it would be more like '85 Bears vs. a Pop Warner team.

Excellent (terrifying?) post SpringSt7. Will need to go back and look at those games more closely.

Sad part is whomever wins will be great game. If Wesleyan wins one throws monkey wrench in standings. I know discussion for another day you can see why playoffs would be awesome.

Bowdoin official color is white based on decisions and choices declared 100+ years ago. Not Black and White- Officially just white.

Quote from: polbear73 on October 26, 2021, 06:14:25 AM
Trinity 8-0, black is not part of the official colors for Bowdoin.  White only.

Undefeated Trinity is heading to Williamstown to face the undefeated Ephs and we're debating Bowdoin school colors, haha! ::) I guess I've brought this upon myself. I admittedly have no knowledge of the history of the College's color pallet decisions, but the school's own style guide says that "Bowdoin's colors are black and white" so that's what I'll go with.

No -- Bowdoin's official color is white. You're quoting someone in the "communications" office who is seriously misinformed. All other Bowdoin sourcces correctly identify Bowdoin's color as white . .

I honestly never knew this would be just a hotly debated topic, but I do find it fascinating. My apologies for hijacking the Board leading up to one of the best slates of games all season. However, I hope you'll indulge me once more as I just have to share these images I came across while researching Bowdoin's school colors:

I for one am sad that these cheers didn't stand the test of time.
