Would you guys relate to yourselves as nerds or terds? Just wondering....

Don't worry about how we refer to ourselves up here in the C-suite. You just keep referring to us as Boss.

There is only one 'Boss'...............and He resides in heaven. The rest of us are just place keepers biding time until we bite the dust.

And unless those in the C-suite (where I worked, miserably, but golden handcuffed, for years, in corporate law.........P&G, PepsiCo, etc........before getting religion, working for myself and managing money for high and ultra-high net worth folks) actually ownt eh company, nobody os the "boss".

My checks never came from the clown who half assed my annual review, it came from the entity. The employees whom I managed did not work for me. I didn't pay them. I didn't own the company. They worked with me, not for me.

Get off the high horse. The C-suite blows. Most who put their backsides in those seats are pompous asses.........and they are nobody's boss.

My bosses are in heaven and so are yours, so live wisely, give plenty of your time and resources.........and drop the C-suite and boss nonsense, it impresses nobody other than the few clowns who are wrongly impressed by it.

Carry on though. ;)

You must be a ton of fun at parties.

If this was Reddit, I'd upvote.

Not to offend anyone's boss, whatever be the case, but it should be pointed out that the source of this fascinating end-of-season dialogue is a Linfield football fan who does most of his posting on the Region 6 boards.  He only uses this board for trolling.  He seems to have had a pretty good day.

2022 NESCACMAN Final Power Rankings

Here are our FINAL rankings for 2022 and our annual NESCACMAN Awards. Once again, thanks to those that followed us this year on the D3 Boards and on Twitter. Congratulations to Hartford State on winning the NESCAC title and an undefeated 9-0 season. Congratulations to all the team MVPs and our 2022 NESCACMAN award winners.

1). Hartford State Bantams (9-0; Last Week: 1): Third undefeated 9-0 season in the history of the NESCAC. Competitive game against Wesleyan who led into the 3rd quarter. First downs were essentially even and Hartford State outgained the Cardinals by a mere 43 yards. Wesleyan missed the other half of their QB tandem, David Estevez, who tried to play after a high ankle sprain against Williams. He was only in two plays. At the end of the day, the better team won. Hartford State will reload for the 2023 campaign and replace key performers like Casagrande and Reid with underclassman waiting in the wings. 2022 Team MVP(s): Spencer Fetter, Noah Glantz.

2). Middlebury Panthers (7-2; LW: 2): Good year for Middlebury exceeding our expectations and coming in second in the NESCAC. Exclamation point on a fine career by HCOF Ritter. Tufts showed why they had the #1 in total offense in the league in smashing the Pants. At the end of the day, lack of ability to defend the pass killed them against Tufts. Middlebury should be in good shape in 2023 led by QB Cole Kennon. They definitely need to make some improvements on defense, in particular, the secondary heading into 2023.  2022 Team MVP: Cole Kennon.

3). Wesleyan Cardinals (6-3; LW: 3): Despite the loss to Hartford State, congratulations to Wes on winning their 2nd outright Little Three title in 3 years and 3rd in 6 years, something not accomplished by the Cardinals since 1966 to 1970. Let's not forget that Wes did not win one single Little Three title from 1971 to 2012, a span of 43 years. The latest run is a huge step forward for the program. Wesleyan played well, despite the eventual loss in Hartford. Of course, HCOF Jeff couldn't help himself by tacking on a meaningless touchdown at the end of the game when he could have run out the clock by taking a knee. Future is bright for the Cardinals as they return most of their starters (7 on defense and 8 on offense) including QB "1b" Niko Candido as well as potentially returning stars/All-NESCACers Nick Helbig at DT and WR Logan Tomlinson. 2022 Team MVP(s): Nick Helbig, Logan Tomlinson.

4). Tufts Jumbo's (6-3; LW: 4): As predicted, Tufts passing game was in record form against the woefully undermanned Middlebury secondary. Finished the year strong. They return the best QB in the NESCAC next year, Michael Berluti, but lose top receiver Phil Lutz. Defense is still a work in progress. Playing as well as any team in the league at the end of the year winning their last three games and outscoring their opponents by a combined 149-54. 2022 Team MVP(s): Michael Berluti, Phil Lutz.

5). Colby White Mules (4-5; LW: 5):
Ended the season on a sour note losing their last 3 games and not achieving their stated goal of having a winning season. Very poor effort against a undermanned Bowdoin squad. It might be time for a coaching changing in Waterville. Colby has theoretically lowered their football admission standards to Hartford State-type levels yet have NOT delivered the results thus far. We would say QB and skill players should be high on their off-season shopping list. 2022 Team MVP: Julian Young.

6). Williams Purple Cows (3-6; LW:6): End the season on a high note with a win at home against Amherst. Gives them something to build on for 2023. Like many teams in the NESCAC, they'll be looking for a QB and someone for him/her to throw to in 2023. 2022 Team MVP: Joel Nicholas.

7). University of Bates Bobcats (Lewiston Campus)(3-6; LW: 7): UBates finishes season on the high note as we predicted by beating the Wobegon Hamilton Continentals. Now the fun begins for HCOF Coyne as he starts to build the Bobcats with his own recruits. We think 2023 could be a step back before moving forward with a sophomore dominated team in 2024. Looking forward to seeing what he builds over the next couple of seasons. 2022 Team MVP(s): Christian Olivieri, Tony Hooks.

8). Amwurst Lord Mammoths (2-7; LW: 8): Forgetful year for the Lord Mammoth finishes with a loss to rival Williams. 2nd losing record in the last 3 years for the LMs. Decent defensively but pathetic offense. Need playmakers all over the field on offense to be more completive in 2023. 2022 Team MVP: Andy Skirzenski.

9). Bowdoin Polar Bears (3-6; LW: 9): Major victory for this historically inept program in getting to three wins. Did the 3rd win save HCOF Hammer's job? Only time will tell. Getting QB Boel back healthy in 2023 will be a major goal. Lose a lot of talent on defense (Ortiz and Jacobs). May have problems keeping teams under 30 points per game next year. 2022 Team MVP(s): Max Jacobs, Drew Ortiz.

10). Hamilton Continentals (2-7; LW: 10): Program seems to be moving the wrong direction. Are they in the wrong league? Maybe it's time for a leadership change? Seems like a century ago that this offense featured Kenny Grey, Joe Schmidt & Co. and actually looked competent. Team MVP: Chase White.

2022 NESCACMAN Offensive Co-Players of the Year: Michael Berluti, Phil Lutz, Tufts.
2022 NESCACMAN Defensive Player of the Year: Nick Helbig, Wesleyan.
2022 NESCACMAN Special Teams Player of the Year: Matthew Jumes, Hartford State.
2022 NESCACMAN Rookie of the Year: Tyler DiNapoli, Hartford State.
2022 NESCACMAN Coach of the Year: Bob Ritter, Middlebury.

NESCACMAN's Picks (winners):
2022 Season: 31-14 (2-3 last week)
2021 Season: 33-12
2020 Season: 0-0
2019 Season: 33-12

NM- Fine job again this year- very entertaining and though provoking. Your efforts are appreciated.

On a side note I believe Bowdoin LB Jacobs will be back next year for a fifth year.

As with the past few years, just impossible to know what to expect next year until we get a sense of which guys with eligibility are returning for a fifth year.  Like, do we know for sure that Lutz is not returning for Tufts?  He has eligibility ...

Some interesting stats from this year: Tufts' average of 472 yards per game is the second-highest of any NESCAC team EVER, just behind the 478 yards per game put up by Williams' 2010 undefeated juggernaut.  Amherst's 236 yards per game on offense is the second-lowest since at LEAST 2012, after Bates in 2018 (a putrid 204).  Tyler Johnson and Phil Lutz combined to average more yards per game than the entire Amherst skill core.  And yet, Amherst beat Tufts!  In hindsight, one of the more improbable upsets in recent NESCAC history.

Tufts really had some tough luck in its losses -- three losses by a total of 10 points.  But then again, in each of those games (including most of the others), the Tufts defense really struggled.  Amherst put up 376 total yards vs. Tufts, easily the most they put up all year (and one of only two games they managed over 257).

While I do think Berluti and the offense had a great season. Tufts has always struggled on defense. Last year was their only bright spot on the DL and the rest of the team struggled immensely in all facets of Defense. What happened to this new DC they hired. Tufts will I am afraid fall under the Wesleyan phrase  "Should have  , would have  , could have "

We hear that Lutz may try to play up. Others are considering doing the same include Tomlinson and Helbig from Wes. We believe that all of those players could certainly contribute at the FCS level and maybe higher. We know that HCOFs Civetti and Dice certainly have the connections and contacts at those levels to properly direct those players to the right programs given their career and academic interests. We also hear that Colby stud LB Young may also be considering a transfer. So to your point, until all of these types of moves get sorted out, it's a complete crap shoot as far as what the 2023 season looks like.

Thank you very much. Appreciate the kind words. The fact that we got you to post for the first time means that we are doing our job. We take great pride that we have more negative smites than any other poster on the NESCAC D3Board. That means that we are doing our job of providing thought provoking content that may not be popular with everyone but is always open, honest, and of course, properly slanted towards the red and black view of the world!

Thanks for the info, Nescacman.  I think, if they succeed, those would be the first non-kickers from NESCAC to transfer up (it's happened quite a bit in hoops) ... or am I forgetting someone?  Hope they earn some great D1 opportunities (both because it would be really cool for them personally, and because I'd rather not see them again, as a Williams fan).

Tufts drops 65 on the "#2" team and you still have them at 4th? Someone must not have been watching the tape. Record-be-damned, Tufts was clearly the second best team in the league. They lost their 3 games by 10 points, and wreaked havoc on both sides of the ball. After watching games around the league all season, they were the clear #2 (can't rightly call them #1 given Trin being undefeated). Midd and Wes are 3 and 4 respectively.

You do know that Winl /Loss is a major factor in power ranking. If you cant beat the Number One and two teams how do you think you should be the second place team. This is a perfect ranking for Tufts. As I said many teams have had offensive fire power in NESCAC what good is it if you cant stop anybody. Tufts had an exceptionally year in only one facet of the game.

NESCACMAN man did an accurate representation of the power rankings !

Scoops

They did beat the #2 team Charlie... They beat them QUITE handily. Check the scores buddy.

Very poor effort against an undermanned Bowdoin squad. It might be time for a coaching changing in Waterville. Colby has theoretically lowered their football admission standards to Hartford State-type levels yet have delivered the results thus far.

The Mole

Scoops, Wesleyan beat Tufts 26-22 and had the same 6-3 record. Both had bad losses to teams with losing records. Please explain how that makes the Jumbos #2. At the end of the year, they may have been the best team. However, the full body of work is what teams are judged upon.
