The Ghost of John Wesley

Any update on the NESCAC transfer portal athletes since Tomlinson-to-UNH was announced? Did Helbig officially sign with Colorado State?

I could probably figure this stuff out on my own if I weren't a Luddite, but I'll leave it to someone who is closer to the process and/more tech-confident.

The Mole

Ghost, no announcement yet on Helbig, but a few other schools in the mix. With official signing date in February, final decision will probably come then

And the recruiting "Dead Period" just ended a few days so there definitely could be some more offers coming for Helbig and the other potential NESCAC transfers soon

Middlebury looking to hire a new OC--is Dave Caputi out or maybe moving to DC to replace Mandigo ?

Coach Kassabian from Colby has also left program so Colby will be looking for new DL Coach.

Has Coach Grove left Amherst?

Do not know if Coach Grove or Mitjans has left waiting on an answer. seems to be  revolving door of Coaches in Amherst.

I also heard that Amherst picked up a legit QB 6"6 230 Braedon Donovan. The mammoths have had a nice recruiting class so far as has Williams & Trinity. Glad to see Amherst maybe coming back up the ranks but time will tell.

dunno...that QB leaves them with very little "height cap space" to play with....

Three Williams, one Amherst, one Trinity recruit on the Herald public school all-scholastics:

https://www.bostonherald.com/2023/01/14/boston-herald-all-scholastics-and-league-all-stars-football/

Trinity had more than one ,  landed top two LB in State and one broke tackle record also landed one of top QB from NEPSAC.

Charlie-
Who the LB you are referring to, what "state tackle record" did he break?

nescac1

I was just referring to the guys who were listed in the article as attending NESCAC schools next year.  And NEPSAC recruits wouldn't be on that list, that's a separate all-Scholastic list.

And here are the Globe all-scholastics.  Two of the future Eph QB/ATHs again mentioned, Will Baker (one of the athletes of the year) and Owen McHugh, as well as future Trinity LB Aidan Murphy, who may be the guy Charlie was referring to, and Middlebury-bound Matt Shaw.

https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/high-schools/202223/all-scholastics/

Should be an interesting QB-of-the-future (and maybe sooner) battle at Williams between Baker, McHugh and Drew Renzella.  Baker and McHugh, at least, seem like guys who can also be major contributors at other positions, as well.

Thanks N1

Yes Trinity LB recruit is Aidan Murphy from Hull.

Hull is a very small school but historically have placed a lot of kids in the NESCAC. Very good program and tradition.
Austin Bongo from Hull is a Williams commit with huge upside.

Three other kids from Hull may still turn up in the NESCAC next fall:
Tyler Sordillo TE/DE
John Gianibas RB
Luke Richardson QB/Ath

The LB I was referring to was LB From Newton South Toyias 6'0 235  , All Scholastic Honorable mention DPOY in League & 475 career tackles. On many other first team selections. Like Murphy played in school not known for football or gets any media attention.

Aidan Murphy from Hull & Toyias from Newton South have great size , speed and physicality. Trinity may have found future LB Duo. Trinity in addition recruited Brady McGowan LB Catholic Memorial undersized 6"0 205 lb but nose for the ball.

Trinity also landed Choate QB Jaxon Carroll 6" 4 200 lb rocket for an arm. Trinity staff has high praise for this recruit and a year behind Fetter learning the system this one could be a gem.

Again as always these are projections have to wait and see what pans out but Trinity seems to have great recruiting class as does Williams.

Heard today that Colby landed a few good ones waiting to hear about those players
