Charlie,
don't blame twitter- you have been a functioning heresay machine on this board. Love your enthusiasm and passion but you seem to dispense a lot of hyperbole here.......that said, keep it up, it's fun to read.

BigKat

He's not a soph or jr, he's a Sr. So yes PWO is most likely scenario re SEC schools. Good get by Tufts. Not sure what other schools looked at him in the league.

NESCACFball24/7

Yes is he a senior but as was said earlier those offers were reported when he was a sophomore going into his junior year. So whether or not the offers are still there (they probably aren't) at the time they were definitely scholarship offers not PWO's. 247 also distinguishes whether or not they are offers or walk on offers on their site so that is a good source for most questions about that.

Scoops

Going off the tape, he is a very good player. How that translates to the college game is to be determined.

Even still, it's fairly impressive that any SEC school thought highly enough of the kid to offer him as a sophomore or junior. You would think that a kid like that wouldn't make it past the Ivies, or at worst that Tufts wouldn't be the only NESCAC to offer him.

Tufts doesn't have a wrestling team I don't think. Maybe Williams and one other Nescac do which is a shame and another discussion .

PWO is prob what he received at those schools which many kids get-no guarantees and no money.
Nobody is throwing out PWO's to sophomores and juniors. My guess is that whatever coach offered him left and the offer went with them.

very impressive but if there is one thing we have all learned is that Socal media filled with a great deal of false hype. It is hard to decipher what is real. These kids are posting offers , visits and who can decipher what is fact or fiction. For Tufts sake I hope it is real.

Watching both of those corners, both are very good and young is the bigger of the two but richardson seems to be the more dynamic athlete of the two. Definitely both good gets for them!

New DL coach at Bowdoin will be Ryan Weston, former Bates Captain and All NESCAC OT.
Ryan leaves the Grambling staff to return home to Maine.
A great hire for the Bears though Bobcat faithful can't picture our guy in Bowdoin Black and White.

The Mole

NACUBO Endowment data just published, here is how the NESCAC schools ranked overall Market Value, and then within the conference Market Value and per full time equivalent student (Tufts includes large # of grad school).

37. Williams $3.5bl, $1.6mm per student (2)
41. Amherst $3.32bl, $1.68mm (1)
56. Bowdoin $2.47bl, 1.27mm (3)
61. Tufts $2.35bl, $189k (11)
92. Wesleyan $1.48bl, $431k (6)
94. Middlebury $1.46bl, $421k (7)
107. Hamilton $1.27bl, $622k (4)
124. Colby $1.12bl, $496k (5)
164. Trinity $780mm, $363k (8)
238. Bates $418mm, $229.8k (9)
240. Connecticut $416mm, $229.3k (10)

TAKE THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED

Thanks Mole

Looks like Caputi stays on Panther staff as OL coach. I always thought Caputi did a very good job with Middlebury offense. Of late the glaring Midd problem was defense, specifically pass defense. Thought the O was well managed.
Surprised to see this demotion. Maybe just a case of Caputi wanting to wind things down a bit as he approaches retirement.

With Houdini retired it will interesting see the scheme that the Middlebury O adapts. My bet is Mandigo scales the Middlebury aerial circus back a bit and gets closer to a balanced attack.

While the passing game at Middlebury has been great many talented RB's were underutilized in that offense.

I think your belief that he is stepping away from some responsibilities is accurate. Caputi is a class act and really transformed that aerial attack at Middlebury. Except for some mistakes they could have beaten Trinity last year and put them in forefront. The Tufts game was a barn burner and also could have gone either way. The problem has been defense. When they won the championship their defense was on top of the league no the have fallen off dramatically. Middlebury as well as a few other NESCAC I think has a hard time in the recruiting arena. Main reason being academics and location and that has a great deal with program being stuck where they are. I really believe Caputi kept them competitive with his Offense. We shall see

" a barn burner that could have gone either way?" you're kidding, right? If it were a fight , it would have been called after the second round. Let's keep it real Charlie. a lot of nonsense spewed on this board but that could be top 5 outrageous thing ever said on here.

Tufts had their seniors and backups in the entire fourth quarter. Had the starters been in that would have gotten much uglier.

It was a joke !!!  Wow sensitive people. The game was not close. The premise is that they really had one bad game all year. They were in the hunt.

And just for the record, while I said Caputi did a fine job with the Middlebury offense he did not transform their passing attack. The Middlebury passing game was built and developed by Ritter and was great long before Caputi arrived.

So your telling me the entire offense was Ritter and Caputi had little to do with that well that and Ritter carried the offense well that is the one of the craziest things I have heard !!
