Sensitive much? Ur right Mark should be considered for Sainthood

U have always been a Williams shill...

It was one quote...get over it...moving on

And now you resort to insulting other and playing the quote down, when you're the guy who made it up in the first place for your own odd agenda.

The coaching exodus is at Bowdoin. The last 2 OC's left after one year on the job and are currently together at Allegheny. Now Defensive Coach Sam Blank who was just promoted in February has departed.

You also forgot last year Dave Yog who was brought in to do Secondary Caoaching & Recruiting and lasted two months before departing to Claremont

Jonny getting after it early in the morning!

I guess every 9-0 team needs some lucky breaks and god knows the Purple Moo-ers did that year.

Funny how I indicated there were problems there last year Coaches bickering between themselves and the berating of players. I indicated that an official at the Trinity game heard this and was appalled.  No Coach should pass the blame to his assistants especially in the media. There is definitely tension their at Williams hopefully this years recruiting class that everyone touts will ease those tensions. I would not be surprised if the next Coach to leave is Hennesey. great Coach and will want to move up coaching divisions having played D1 and in the NFL.

He didn't blame his assistants.  The other poster made that up. Read the actual quote, he was taking blame as the entire coaching staff as opposed to the players.

"There is definitely tension there" lol

Hennesey and others certainly could leave.  That's what happens with assistant coaches if they're any good.  Head coaches understand that and are pleased by it — at least, good ones are.

What did the Trinity official have to say about the lacrosse coach and their senior class?

Yes Charlie - he is a solid coach in a good place- not sure what you are saying beyond that but I respect your opinion.

I agree that the NESCAC would be a better place if all schools operated on the Trinity platform but that just isn't the case.

It's not the Big 10, Patriot league or even the Ivies where all the schools operate on a pretty level playing field- A lot of variation in the NESCAC --been trying to get you to see that.

Curious what the trinity platform is.
Is it simply being more lenient regarding academic standards and letting more football players / athletes in?

YES

Forget Williams vs. Amherst... the best rivalry in the NESCAC is lumbercat vs. the quote function.

Very True

BigKat

Charlie vs Strunk and White is a close second ;)

Achaia Jones RB 5'8" 190 Satellite HS FL.

New to the board, so please excuse any mistakes.  What about Achaia?  Are you just mentioning him as a possible "impact player", based on the previous post about a need for a RB?

and still wondering how y'all compare incoming Freshman classes, being that these kids come from all over.

Is the consensus still that there is no way to accurately judge until a year or two down the road?

Also, how are y'all finding out the names of the kids?  By monitoring Twitter for each team and coach?

Lastly, is the consensus of the group that the recent woes for Amherst FB was that the Admissions Department under the previous President was too tough?  It seems that most all of our agree that Coach Mills is a top coach in the League and no one seems to be insinuating that he's lost his passion or anything like that.

Welcome to the board Mammoth dad. Hopefully your son has a great 4 years under Coach Mills. He's a very good coach and person, and that program has always been high class in my experience in the stands.

The easiest way to find out the individual commits to the different programs is by looking through Twitter, but the teams usually start announcing their incoming class in the next couple of weeks or so. As for the LM's recent fall from grace, it can mostly be attributed to them swinging and missing on QBs after having the safest possible kid they could, and also missing big at offensive skill positions. I'm sure they would like to blame admissions, but when Bowdoin and Williams are getting better recruits, it's hard to lay it all at the feet of the administration. By all accounts, they're attempting to fix the problem at the skills, but time will tell if that's the case. They'll likely have to ride their defense once again this year and hope for the best.

Coach Mills is a proven top notch Head Coach. For my money he's the best in the league.

The word around the Amherst Football program is the Administration at Amherst has changed their direction in terms of their support for Football and male helmet/contact sports in general. I have no first hand knowledge of this from 100 miles away but have heard this repeatedly from those connected over the last couple of years.

Mills is the best but if the stance on Athletics in the Amherst Administration and Faculty were to change as rumored he's going to have a tough time recruiting and winning. None of the great coaches in the conference can really compete for championships without a high level support from college Administration and Admissions.

Seems like things are going very well so far for Logan Tomlinson at UNH:

In other transfer news, former Tufts tight end Joshua Meriwether has transferred to Tennessee State, I believe as a grad transfer.  He has not played much for Tufts, maybe injured?

Meriwether is a grad Transfer with 2 years of eligibility (covid year and injured this year). He started for them in 2021 but was mostly used as a blocking tight end. Looks like he's from Nashville so that seems like a natural move.

In other news I was told that Lutz told the team over the weekend that he will be at Delaware next year. Any ideas on who will pick up the slack for them with him gone?

Now who is spreading the poop around.
Amherst Men's Hockey had a great year last season and should have been the Nescac's sole NCAA representative but got knocked out by Williams and their super stud graduating Sr Goalie Evan Ruschil "Rusch" and Co in the Nescac Semi's. Their Lax team has been good as well so no idea how you can compare 'helmet sports' success or failures on admissions.

Johnny Eph

Obviously support from admissions is a big factor but certainly not the only one. A school like Amherst will still have advantages that some of the other Nescac's can only dream about when it comes to admissions. Even if they are weeding out the C Bands or those Protects/Ice's are now considered Reg Decision rejects. Gonna have to get creative or do the old school Amherst trick and keep telling the recruit how little there is to do in Williamstown over and over until it sticks like a fly to feces

Scoops

I certainly don't think Tufts will be hurting to replace Lutz if the rumors of his departure are true. Their receiving group was pretty deep this season, and they had some pretty impressive skill group classes the last few years that should be coming into their own. With Lutz and Tomlinson gone, they still have arguably the best receiver in the league in Jayden Richardson. Easily the biggest snub from the all-conference list.
