Quote from: NescacNewbie on June 18, 2024, 12:52:06 PMColby AD Mike Wisecup just stepped down, heading back into the National Security industry.
Huge loss for the Mules.

Inside info I guess. No word on this to date from Colby from what I can see.
If correct it is certainly a big loss for Colby. He's done a great job, best athletic program in many years on Mayflower Hill.

An e-mail was sent out last week to Friends of Colby Athletics. His last day is June 30

The Mules have named the Asst AD as the interim. While she is a fine candidate, I am being told that they are interviewing some very, very heavy hitters to replace Mike.
Remember that Mike had no AD experience when President Greene hired him.
Could be an interesting summer on the Hill.

At Tufts I like them.....brings out more students
I wasn't crazy about the DJ/music between plays, but people were dancing and having a good time

I think that's the majority view...kinda cool I guess.  I do prefer the afternoon games if the weather is good.  Overall, it seems to bring out the additional students.

Quote from: The truth 101 on June 08, 2024, 02:00:32 AMAll this talk about Tufts and Trinity not enough about the ACTUAL NESCAC champs Middlebury throughout this off-season.
Who will step forward and be Midd's starting QB will be a big part of the equation.

This one got lost in the mix, but I thought I'd provide some insight. Junior Brian Moran was the backup last year and is the most likely new starter. Senior Nick Perez also played some last year, and the team and coaches trust both Moran and Perez to lead the offense. There is some depth behind them as well, with three sophomore QBs and one freshman coming in. Protected by what will be a very experienced OL, I expect Midd to find a good answer here.

Brian Moran: My son played with him in high school. Great athlete and an even better young man. Happy to hear he is doing well!

Yes- Moran played at New Hampton - was very deliberate in the recruiting process and ultimately settled at Middlebury.

Based on all NESCAC recruiting information the early grades are in on the class of '28.

1. Tufts- (like selling Nvidia AI) a dropkick for kids who prefer Boston to the NESCAC sticks.
2. Trinity- always recruit well- unprecedented admissions influence and a good chance for a ring.
3. Middlebury- They do well in that central New England- New York belt. But no Ritter grade QB!
4. Wesleyan- Dicenzo is a grinder- not afraid to take undersized guys and develop them.
5. Williams- even with limited data they landed some whales.
6. Bates- Coyne is a mover-in discussion with recruits/parents- kids want to play for this guy.
7. Hamilton- remote location in western Siberia provides ops- Great QBs & top RB coming in.
8. Amherst- EJ walks into the room and says c'mon lets you get you out here at Amherst- it works.
9. Bowdoin- Hammer intensity scores with some good kids- Bear admissions playing ball these days
10 Colby- All NESCAC QB coming in from Ga.- beyond that little recruiting work. Staff in flux.

Any big surprises Lumber?

How much of a gap between teams/tiers?

Will be interesting to see the season play out...outcome probably based more on the '26 recruiting classes...if we can remember them!

I think the Colby QB is a special kid with immense potential.
Hamilton over recruited at QB with 2-3 really good prospects.
Bates got a great, big  athletic QB,
Williams killed it with their OL DL commits.

"Williams killed it with their OL DL commits"

It starts up front on both sides...smart.

Western Siberia ;D ...While a road trip to Clinton, NY may seems like well, a road trip, let me point out that the location of Hamilton College is in no way remote. It's in a populated corridor between Utica and Syracuse. Only a few short miles from a world class resort/casino /golf destination called Turning Stone. I know this because I grew up nearby...As for a football "Siberia". Let me remind you the 2024 D3 National Champion Cortland is only 80 miles away. Hardly a wasteland for D3 football. If you NESCAC guys really feel that way about Hamilton why not convince them to join a NYS based league instead. The Liberty League would be honored to have them and they could play in the postseason :P . BTW the entire NESCAC would get smoked by Cortland.
