Until the schools announce their 2025 recruiting classes later this Spring, we have found the best way to track is via X (FKA Twitter). Typically, recruits will self-report their intentions. Following the teams and student-athletes via X is definitely not perfect, but you can get a good approximation of how each NESCAC school is doing in terms of this year's recruiting class. This approach doesn't typically factor in transfers and student-athletes going through regular decision (both of which are far and few between these days).

Our assessment is the usual suspects are doing well recruiting (Hartford State, Middlebury, Tufts, Wesleyan) with Williams, UBates, and Bowdoin in the next tier. Amherst, Hamilton, and Colby are in the third tier from what we have seen so far (and we watch a lot of recruits on Hudl).

We were glad to be able to get five NESCAC student-athletes from the NESCACFBPA to join us on our podcast -- special shout-out to Vaughn Seelicke for helping coordinate all those schedules!

It's podcast 377, which dropped into feeds this morning.

I follow CT high school football pretty closely and this is a great get by Wes. He'll be a star.

Next Chase Wilson/Logan Tomlinson/Michael Breuler...we hope.

I wouldn't call him the next any of those guys given he's 5'9 and will surely play in the slot while all the others you named are 6'1 and above and played wide out. Could certainly be a future weapon in the league but most definitely has to be used differently than the three names you mentioned.

I definitely agree with this as he was a very good player at Choate and excellent pick up for the Cardinals. I am interested to see if he is going to be used as a kick returner at Wesleyan...

Obviously, all of these stellar student-athletes were used a bit differently. Our point is that we are hoping that Donte is another outstanding playmaker in a long line of excellent Cardinals at the WR position.

Interesting post with a NESCAC bent. We'll take the bait...

HCOF Blumenauer is an interesting hire for SUNY Cortland. Most of HCOF Blumenauer's experience is at schools that we would classify as "academically" inclined and are smaller, private, liberal arts colleges. Nothing against SUNY Cortland, but it's not Bowdoin, Williams, or F&M. Recruiting will be a bit different at Cortland compared to his previous gigs. The student-athletes he will be coaching will be different too.

We would classify his coaching track record in the NESCAC as a mixed bag. As OC at Bowdoin in 2015 (2-6), they were 8th in scoring offense and 7th in total offense. In 2016, he moved to Williams. From 2016-2020 he was the offensive line coach and run game coordinator. In 2021, he became OC. In 2016, Williams (0-8) offense was 8th in scoring, 6th in total offense, 5th in rushing offense, and 8th in sacks allowed. In 2017 (6-3), Williams was 6th in scoring offense, 6th in total offense, and 5th in rushing offense. In 2018 (5-4), Willams was 4th in scoring offense (by 1/10th of a point), 4th in total offense, 4th in rushing offense, and 7th in sacks allowed. In 2019 and 2021 (7-2; 9-0), Williams offense was stellar, but of course, they had one of the best QB's in NESCAC history in Bobby Maimaron.

Will be interesting to watch and hope we get to see the NESCAC champ (or a NESCAC at-large bid) face SUNY Cortland in the D3 Play-offs in the near future.

Interesting article from today...not sure if it has been posted elsewhere, and many kudos to Tufts kicker Vaughn Seelicke for being such a strong voice for the players backing the proposal.

Kudos to the AP for picking up on this story. I was not surprised that I did not get a response from the NESCAC office when I inquired a couple weeks ago, but I am surprised that the NESCAC did not respond to the AP, either.

Actually, not surprised at all. The NESCAC Commissioner serves at the pleasure of the League President's. We will leave it at that.

League President's meet on April 3rd and will be rendering a decision on participation in the D3 Play-offs for the 2025 season then. Let's keep our fingers crossed. 50/50 for 2025, IOO.
