I can tell you that Middlebury recruited a kid out of San Rafael, California.  He played QB in high school (took his team to the regional finals his jr and sr years) but he's on the small size - 5'10" or so - and throws kinda sidearm so I suspect he might end up at DB.

cool, vermont is beautiful know alot of middlebury alums most are quite nice, the coaches have a great reputation as well hope he has a great 4 years, thanks for the info.

Just in case anyone is interested I came across another site to talk about NESCAC sports. www.nescacnation.com I seems to be fairly new because there hasn't been very much discussion on any of the topics.

Had not seen it before.  I predict a long and stormy relationship with the ephblog.

NESCACNation has some interesting links.  Flashdance in Williamstown?

Wow ... speechless. But I should mention, my almost-4-year-old was fascinated.

Wow.  Painful.

3 and a half minutes later and I like Amherst a whole lot more now. :)

those kids need immediate treatment.  i suggest 4 atomic wedgies, 10 swirlies, and 2 dunks in the trash can.

there were 2 things that allowed me to watch that entire video. #1 was the main girl's left boob. I'll let you figure out what #2 was.

chessdoc: You will love Maine in September and October. I know I do. Fall foliage; crisp morning air; dew on the grass; the smell of salt; the sounds of fog horns and loons (keep a window open at night); quaint, small, old villages; minimal traffic; lobster, scallops, clams and scrod - and d3 football. Stay as long as you can. Lodge as close to the ocean as feasible - easy if you are headed for Bowdoin (try the Harpswells for modest digs but very near to Bowdoin and very, very near to the ocean), a little less easy if Bates, even less easy if Colby, but in my view the short commute from ocean-side lodging to Bates or Colby is worth it. Make your lodging reservations for football weekends as early as you can.

frank u were great all the way, actually u were nice to my kid when he posted earlier, he just a bit shy, but hes a nice kid, we have relatives that way and a friend that played for another nescac school as well as a graduating back (who we never met but heard great things about) so we feel real comfortable about the choice. hope to meet u one day.

Another plus to Maine that time of year is if you head north west past Farmington and Rangely you get into some great camping and hiking country.  Of course the Black Flies in summer are always fun.   ;D
