I heard he got a full ride.  Im not exactly sure if Merrimack gives full rides but thats what I heard anyway.

Dr E. Spengler

Egon here...after becoming a complete legend over on the basketball discussion, I wish to drop some science on the fools who don't know any better over on the football boards.  I have not and will not take the time to read previous posts.  I figure the discussion is generally commenting on the greatness of trinity, blah blah blah...but the good Doctor Spengler did not come here to talk about the trinity football program.  Rather I would like to talk about something you will find about 40 minutes up the road and several rungs higher on the grand ladder of education and general intelligence.  I write to you to inform you about the "no fly zone"...if you dont know...ask somebody.  Word on the streets of Amherst is that Sean Taylor has been working out around school...it might just be Mike Salerno, but I wouldn't want to be the one to have to come across the middle and find out.

lataaaaaaaaa,
Spengs

I heard you listen to Nickelback.  Is that true?

Hey, "Spengs" a.k.a. Ben Kessler Amherst '07

It sounds to me like you're another one of those elitist snobs who wasn't quite smart enough for an Ivy League school and has an enormous inferiority complex about it. You also strike me as either a washed up high school hero who wasn't even good enough to play D3 college athletics or possibly a perpetual jock-sniffer, who is happy enough "dropping science" about competitive sports rather than doing the necessary work to actually participate and/or contribute.

In any case, I'm THRILLED to have you on the message board so that we can all benefit from your first-hand knowledge of the game, and unsurpassed level of intelligence which I'm sure is "several rungs higher on the grand ladder of education and general intelligence".

im all for healthy debate about all things nescac football, but do we really have to resort to attacks on a persons character? id much rather hear some good insight on how bowdoin or wesleyan will fare this year than hear venom spewed from one poster to another...

at 6'1 190, Mike Salerno looks more like Doug Flutie than 235 lb. Sean Taylor. Doesn't Salerno play basketball as well? Does Mr. Kessler blow him on every discussion board he visits? more importantly does Salerno know that he has his own personal jock-sniffer?

bant551

He is like a personal "Styles" from Teen Wolf.  I always wanted one of those.  Maybe he has a "Sean Buddy" tee-shirt.

I'm all for a discussion about any aspect of NESCAC football, however, I am getting bored with the continuous barage of unsubstantiated knocks on Trinity, it's current and former players, coaches, administration and students. It is especially aggrevating when done by those who do so merely to take a cheap shot at others, rather than actually add something to a discussioin.

We're all big boys here, so if you're going to dish it out, be prepared to take it.

It does get tiresome and I would be frustrated too. Although I am sick of hearing about how great Trinity is, etc etc its only because i am jealous. I really can't blame you guys b/c if I was undefeated for the last billion years I would have  erected a billboard about it next to every NESCAC stadium in New England just so they would never forget. Bottom line is that people like Kessler are the elitist pukes that make up 50% of New England small colleges and the other 50% can't stand.

Some of the towns, which are homes to NESCAC colleges, do not permit billboards. Would a skywriter do?

Spengs = legend...thanks for your help.

MM - Marcus Meikle...coo coo, coo coo.  Don't know? Ask somebody...

To all the trinity "fans" or whatever the hell you people who waste contless hours contemplating what John Bedford may be having for dinner that night or if anyone on your team can stop Mark Hannon...let me say one thing.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy fingers hurt.

peace and love,

Dr E. Spengler

One last post from your favorite good doctor, before I retire (on the top of my game no less.)  Egon meant to harm, and came to post on these boards to have a good time, and hopefully have a nice little give and take with some fellow students and the people that enjoy some nescac sports.  Any personal attacks were either either incidental and or completely intended yet said toungue-in cheek.  I love the attacks coming back at me, because that's what watching sports is all about, nice little competition about those who care...Have a good season(s).

I love you all, and most of all...it's the passion that I love.

over and out,
Dr. Egon Spengler

Lets not confuse style with substance, there are those who bash each other and their schools because they are competitive and use the written word vs.the playing field to make their points. Sometimes making the statements a bit off color in nature. When we cut through the BS and focus on the facts the following is the most likely scenario for the up coming season:

Trinity 8-0  streak continues to 38
Trinity will most likely give up <7 pts a game
Trinity will most likely average >30 pts a game

Williams and Amherst will fight it out for 2nd

Colby and Bowdoin  will continue to get better

The rest will struggle unless playing each other

                                Key Questions:
Can Williams be competitive in week 2 vs Trinity
                                     Can Williams win at Amherst?
Can Amherst give Trinity a game
Are Colby and Bowdoin ready to move up a notch
Did Trinity bring in D1 or D1AA transfers for 2006?

                                                            comments and analysis appreciated
