When I said the word "funky" I meant I was too lazy and  hadnt figured it out yet.  I just saw the records that indicated a full season and I didnt see the week listed anywhere so I assumed it was the end of the year and not the preseason poll for that year.

where does one get info on the nescac and the upcoming season other than here????

nescac1

Best places: nescac.com and the individual sports information pages that it links to.  (By the way, Williams also has its 2006 roster posted).  Also nescacnation.com, which has a message board, posts news articles, and link to the various school newspapers.  Outside of that, not much.

cruiser: Looks like Colby will have a lot of senior leadership this year.

Here's the outlook for the '06 Bants.

Chessdoc, all of the NESCAC schools provide detailed accounts of the games in which their team is involved on their homepages. These stories are typically posted soon after the game is completed and include micro detail on the stats for the game. Some also provide previews of each game.

Colby is a threat...no doubt about it.  The thing that scares me most about the Trinity/Colby game is that it is the first one of the year, with a relatively young Trinity team, with a new coaching staff.  Colby has strong senior leadership and a lot of momentum after last season.  The only thing that will work to the Bantams favor is that they play in "The Coop"....and we all know what that means for opposing teams...they don't win.

As for Tufts...the Trinty/Tufts game will be their 1,000th all time game.  They will be hyped up and ready to play...but again....they play @ Trinity....they won't win.

despite the fact that it seems that all of D3 got mentioned in don hansen's preseason all-american list, congrats to mike bracco of colby to be the only nescac player to make it onto one of the three all american teams: http://www.colby.edu/athletics/releases/archive_0506/bracco7-24-06.shtml -or- for the full (very full) list, http://www.donhansen.com/AA/2006/2006%20Football%20Gazette%20NCAA%20III%20Pre-season%20AA%20Team.pdf... congrats also to the numerous other nescac players who earned honorable mention. the legitimacy of this list has already been questioned (vehemently) but its still nice to see some nescac guys getting recognition on a more national scale than we as nescac fans are used to...

For the Philadelphia fans....

Eagles play sunday August 6th (day before my birthday) v.s. the Raiders.  Hall of Fame Game.

I love football and the Eagles.

fpc85

Bird do you think the eagles will finish above the giants this year?

dirtybirds8-0

Yes...Eli has not been working with his receivers during the off season...this will hurt them come game day...we have a better defensive unit this year and all wounds are healed.  The sucess of the Eagles will come down to Donovan..

Enough about the Eagles...

Any reports on Teams around the NESCAC...?

I have heard the dirty birds are frothing at the mouth to get the season underway.  They are excited to continue the streak...and the seniors certainly want another ring!

It was hysterical when Priore gave the 2002 team watches because it wasn't a "real championship" (tied with Williams at 7-1).

The guy has a way with words.  Looking forward to seeing Stony Brook play Hofstra.  I think he'll turn Stony Brook into a very good I-AA with scholarships... but this is a true challenge, especially this year against Hofstra, who play teams like Marshall on the other end of these "practice games".

That Sept. 16 scrimmage is coming up soon..... is this the 'calm before the storm'???

dirtybirds8-0

I always thought the pre-season scrimmages were not that accurate as to how the teams will fair during the season.   The starters play a limited role in the scrimmage...and usually the better teams use that time to get some live action and then evaluate second and third string players.
