Trin,

Are you serious on that Hammy comment?  I mean, I haven't sen them play so I can't say much, but it seems a little far fetched.  Have you seen them?  Is this a team we can actually talk about now?

Trin9-0

9: I would be as amazed as the next person if Hamilton actually did pull the upset. However, stranger things have happened. The defense is pretty legit, though they probably won't have the offense to stay with Williams.

I think I would have a coronary the size of Vermont if Hamilton upsets Williams. That is something with Hamilton's anemic offense and the size of Williams, I just don't see this happening.

Now, being the Middlebury play-by-play guy, I want to know what everyone thinks of the Panthers' chances of beating Trinity. I think they will give Trinity a serious run for their money, but the offense is going to have to be perfect, and the defense will have to play as tight as they did against Amherst.

I don't know if the Conts could pull an upset over the Ephs. We have a great defense that is capable of forcing turnovers but our offense struggles to make first downs. If the Ephs can force turnovers as well as the Conts have at home, they will run away with the game. Hopefully, with the added help of it being "Parent's Weekend" on the Hill we can pull the upset.

I'd really like to see the Conts make it to .500 this season. It would make me quite happy being my senior year.

As for Trinity, we played them earlier in the year and they looked horrible. Our defense forced two turnovers and over five of their players went to the local hospital with broken ribs and etc. I don't like their chances against Williams because they looked so horrible against us, and yes, I know they beat us (Hamilton). But it was VERY sloppy.

Going along with my last post. I'd say Middlebury has an easy chance of beating Trinity. They have a big guy in (I think) #87 but he only plays a few downs per series and isn't capable of helping enough in blocking for Trinity to run it down the middle. Also, Trinity's air attack wasn't anything to talk about.

In my opinion, Trinity is one of the bottom four teams this year. Bowdoin played better than they did.

Mr. Inside

Chas,
Easy does it.  I heard the Hamilton Player who broke his leg was the worst injury of all.

Anyway, consider the Bants like the Pats. The game will not be pretty, but all they do is win. That is what happens when you Defense is good. How can you say they looked horrible. They have shut out everyone after the Williams loss.

Midd / Trin will be a defensive battle with Trin winning. 14-6.

Williams will smoke Hamilton.
Amherst over Tufts
Then who cares about the CBB.

Mr. Inside

How can you say Bowdoin played better. That is the dumbest statement I have ever heard. The score was
34-0

I think Middlebury will score a bit more than that. The offense looked very good on Saturday(I know, it was against Bates.), but the passing attack looked very good, and David Randolph in the backfield had a few impressive runs.

Everyone take it easy.   I think he meant Bowdoin played Hamilton tougher in a loss than Trinity played Hamilton in a win.

And alucardz, fortunately for everyone football is a game won by number points scored, not gross number of opposing players taken out in stretchers.

Hoaf

Yes, I know football is not played by gross number of injuries. But any team that has that many players in the hospital is not a tough team. But along with what CP said I was talking about how I saw Trinity play. Trinity let Hamilton, a team that has been known for winless seasons get to the 5-yard line repeatedly. Any team that lets team with an anemic offense get to the red zone again and again is not a good team.

They are in my bottom four.

I don't care about how many wins Trinity has in the win column. I believe Hamilton could have won that game. Our staring center went out with a broken ankle (the worst injury of all with a over a 2" bone displacement), which caused the whole offense to go out of sinc and also led to a few fumbled snaps.

Middlebury can beat Trinity.

alucardz, I'll be sure to take your bottom-4 ranking into account when formulating my own opinion.

It isn't ridiculous or delusional or anything.

No, alucardz, I totally see how you think your team is better.  Totally makes sense.

TGP disagrees with Trin8(5)0's implications that seeing a vast improvement in your football team goes hand in hand with dropping your admissions standards.

Over the last 5-10 years Hobart has made leaps in admissions while going from being a doormat to a perennial league and NCAA berth contender.

TGP doesn't buy the correlation.

Hoaf

I am not saying my team is better. I am saying in comparison to how they played to my team. Trinity is worse off than Bates.

If helps you sleep at night Hamilton is in my bottom 4 as well.
