Hamilton (against Tufts)  again looks young and inexperienced in the skill positions of QB & RB.  Lots of overthrows interceptions and RB's getting shut down.  Defense lost #10 in 3rd quater and seem to have wind knocked out of them.  Game alot closer than score indicated.

How about them BOWDOIN POLAR BEARS! Congratulations to Coach Caputi and his team. That had to be one of the biggest  NESAC upsets in a long time. I guess that is why they play the game on the field.

Yes, congrats.  Far too often, we concentrate on the losing team's problems in a game like this with a heavy favorite rather than what the winning team did to become the victors.

A lot fewer people would watch football, and a lot who would continue to watch would watch a lot less -  if the favorite always won.

Some fantastic match-ups this week in the NESCAC:

Will Bowdoin pull-out another upset, this time on the road at Amherst?

Which 0-1 team is more improved from '06; Wesleyan or Hamilton?

Is Tufts that good? Is Bates that bad?

Does Colby have enough offense to hang with Middlebury?

Can Williams bounce back and beat Trinity?

If Middlebury plays the same intensity of defense that they did against Wesleyan, they shouldn't have much of a problem. The offense was solid and I was really impressed with the play of their freshman quarterback Donald McKillop. He was poised and did a great job of managing the clock.

Hamilton  - tufts game was only 10-7 midway through 3rd quarter - an injury and turnover gave Tufts great 4th quarter scoring opportunity - tough to say if there that good or Hamilton faded

cruiser

dont sleep on colby. despite what the stat sheet says, that defense packs some serious punch...

Hamilton beat Colgate 28-7 with running time in the second half. They mustve had around 10 sacks, and allowed nearly no rushing yards. Also, the  Colgate score was towards then end of the game. It was pretty lopsided throughout

I'd imagine you know how the scrimmage went, since you're listed on the Hamilton roster.

Will there be any Northeast 'Around the Region' coverage this year?

I agree with cruiser, if Colby can manage a few points and avoid turnovers in the redzone then Midd could be in trouble. The have a strong defense and will definately be tougher on a freshman QB than Wes.

I remember reading that there was supposed to be someone covering the NESCAC and NEFC. Looks like that fell through.

Does Hamilton even have football?

We believed we had someone set to go but then they stopped returning e-mails and phone calls. We're looking for someone else.

Boston Globe article has Trinity vs. Williams New England game of the week (omitting fact that Williams was embarrassed last week).  Some other NESCAC games get some ink:

The Captain is running all of last weeks statistics through the computer model now.   Will come back later with this week's picks...was 3-2 vs. the spread with imperfect information last week.
