Where did you find the Amherst Football season preview?

redtail

does Hamilton have any chance of going 500 this year or are they still to young at the skilled positions - RB & QB.  QB situation was a mess last year.

Doug

Thanks, you had it before it popped on their website.

Interesting name on the Amherst pre-season roster:

Gordie Lochbaum ... given that he is from Worcester, I am guessing he must be the son of the near-Heisman-winning Lochbaum?  Pretty cool.

Anyone planning on catching the Williams / Amherst scrimmage?  Should be interesting, with heated QB competitions at both schools ... any word on who has the inside track at Williams?

That is indeed his son...he played shortstop for the MA team which played in the Little League World Series a couple of years ago.  He was also one of the best prep wrestlers in the country the last couple of years.

did anyone see the scrimmages yesterday? i saw the williams purlpe and gold scrimmage and the frosh QB from Conn looks very, very good

Jonny Utah

Tufts beat up bowdoin pretty bad in their scrimmage from what I heard.  Bowdoin is going to be hit hard by the injury bug early on this season.

Thanks for the Williams update ... based on the articles I read about that QB (one of which I posted here) he sounds like the real deal ... anyone else stand out at the scrimmage?

Nice article on Brian Morrissey in the Boston Globe:

Morrissey as expected looked good as did the offensive line
hard to tell if the offense was very good or the defense was little suspect when you are playing against yourself

According to a phone call report, Colby had their way with Bates in a scrimmage on Friday. Not sure what it says about Colby, but it probably means that Bates has another long season ahead of them. Bates could not move the ball against Colby, or could they stop Colby's running game and the Bates special teams gave up a score on a block field goal.
