Might those roles have reversed this season? The Trinity offense seems to revolve around McGrath and the Ephs' around Morrissey, no?

Interesting trend...

I know that it is exciting to talk about "what ifs" in regards to more games and national play-offs, but I think that it is a conversation worth saving (at least until after the season).  Unless you are going to put ex-football players in the president position at EVERY NESCAC school, it isn't going to happen.  If you want to get them to bring it up again, wait for the IVY's to make a move; the NESCAC may follow.

Back to Trin/Williams.  I believe that the bantams still have a solid ground game with Starnes and Jackson.  I think that opening up the game with a strong passing attack will be the key for Trinity, rain or shine.
McGrath is a good QB, but everything has to be on point to get to the Ephs.

+K to you, 'neath, for the clever screen name.  I enjoy the veiled reference to our alma mater's song more than I enjoy the song itself. :)

Thanks for the props, Gordon!

Some rainy day picks

Wes 14
Ham7

Middle 21
Colby 7

Amherst 28
Bowdoin 7

Tufts 21
Bates 3 (Don't know if they will kick, but I didn't want to put a zero)

Trinity 21
Williams 14

I want Trin to win, so I pick them to win.  2TDs for McGrath including the game winner (I HOPE!).

Trin9-0

No question what the game of the week is.

The Williams athletics page does a great job of summarizing the Trin-Wlms rivalry in it's "Trinity Game Notes". It always seemed to me that this rivalry means more to the Bantams than the Ephs because regarless of the outcome Williams still has Amherst to look forward to while historically the Williams game can make or break the Trinity football season.

HOWEVER, that wasn't the case last year (as the the Bants went on to lose 2 of its next 4 games) and I don't think it will be the case this year either.

I see the Ephs pulling out a close one (though I'll take Trin with the points) at very sloppy Weston Field, but the Bants will still finish 7-1 and earn at least a share of the NESCAC title.

I'll be heading up to Williamstown for the game; feel free to stop by the Trinity Long Walk Society Tent to say hello.

Capt., great job with the spread as always. I'll take Wes, Colby with the points, Amherst, Tufts and as previously mentioned Trin with the points.

neathDelms: I hope your prediction for Trin turns out to better than mine!

gordonmann: 'Neath the Elms may not make for a stirring fight song but it is a lovely tune.

Go Bantams!

Yeah, that is what I meant eclinchy, normally a sloppy field would be an advantage for grind em out Trinity, but given Trinity's advantage at QB and Williams' edge at RB, I don't think it really favors either team.  Probably gonna be a low scoring game where turnovers make the difference.   I think a key guy could be Weeks spelling Morrissey, got his feet wet last week after a year off, but should be able to provide a bit more of a breather this week.

ephoops

Given the amount of rain both today and tomorrow, it would not surprise me to see a very low scoring game.

Possibly a 0-0 tie along the line of the imfamous mud bowl that Williams and Amherst played back in '95.

Trin9-0

No more ties in NCAA football. Though a 3-0 overtime final isn't out of the question. And if that's the case you'd have to like the Bants chances with senior All NESCAC kicker Adam Cox.

if hamilton wins tomorrow - can they get some love on this board - lol.  qb going to be the differenc e w/ hamy and wesy tomorrow - assuming new qb for wesy and which qb shows up for hamy - this could be great or ugly

It's raining so it must be Homecoming Weekend.

Tufts 24
Bates 0

Go Jumbos.

neathDelms

Redtail,

I would love to know how any times each team brings less than 5 on the defensive side (probably not many)...lot's of negative plays and a couple of big plays; that's my prediction.

redtail

hamy - wesy now 2PM on Sunday - probably at trinity, if wesy field takes too much water - now all you d3 watcehrs will have somethnig to do on sunday since the pats aren't playing - lol - have a goood saturday

Col. Partridge

Ridiculous.   Today's weather will be better than Sunday.  They should just tear up the field and play it today.

I saw a bunch of HS games in CT were postponed from Friday night when it turned out that was probably the best time of the weekend to play.

Tufts 20, Bates 0. Forde has 100 yards exactly. Fucillo is 6-for-10 for 168, including 108 to Steve Black.

Not even halftime yet.
