Williams intercepts McKillop after he'd made 5 straight completions and marched Middlebury down to the Williams 42. 50-45 Williams final.

The legend Greg Ward threw 76 attempts against Middlebury in 2001.

Unfortunately, it was in a losing effore (14-7).  Also, it was NOT an overtime game.

Looks like Eck might have suffered anonther concusion late in 4th, could spell end of hamy suprise season.  looks like great games every where this week.  hamy went way out early lead, polar bears almost all the way back in the 3rd, hamy controls the 4th for the win.  schnicleberger 4 td's rushing today for hamy

I certainly was too aggressive in some of those spreads, accounting for typos!   There is more parity in the NESCAC this year than I ever remember...favorites covered twice, did not cover three times.

Glad to see Wesleyan finally hit its groove.

Heartbreaking loss for the Jumbos.  DAMN YOU BANTS!!!  Pretty good good day, don't you say?.

Man, I realize there were a lot of good offensive performances this week, but how can Pat Moffitt and/or Nick Caro not at least share offensive POW honors?  I mean, really, what more could they do?

That's one of the best Saturdays of NESCAC football that I can remember.

Congrats to Hammy. Stetson definitely has their program on the rise with a lot of young talent contributing early.  A win next week at Colby will give them at least 3 wins for the first time in 12 years (and with a great shot at finishing .500 for the season).

Speaking of Colby; I think they showed their true colors this weekend being blown-out by Amherst. The Mules were outgained by 300 yards against the Jeffs.  The Hamilton game will be big for them as well if they want to end the year with a winning record.

What a game between Midd and Wlms.  If not for the thriller in Hartford, this would have been the game of the day. I think all the concerns about finding a QB in Williamstown were bit premature as Moffitt throws 20-29 for 381 and 4 TDs.  As for the Panthers, they've got to be disappointed with their season thus far (especially the nearly 30 points a game the defense is allowing). With Trinity and Tufts still on the schedule they could wind up going from league champs to a pedestrian 4-4.

It's about time the Cards got their act together as Wes notches their first win. They'd been close in their previous three games, unfortunately it looks like they've found their rhythm a little too late.  Of their remaining four games only Bowdoin seems winnable. As for Bates; what does it say about the Bobcats that in a NESCAC season characterized by parity they could finish winless?

Trinity's win over Tufts was simply thrilling and reminiscent of the Bants triple OT win over Williams last year (complete with a botched extra point attempt that helped determine the outcome). The Jumbos showed a TON of heart and it seemed to me as though they felt they deserved to win. They looked to be in disbelief after the game.

Eric McGrath is unbelievably good and possibly the most clutch quarterback in NESCAC history. Consider his performance the past three weeks. There's the 92 yard TD drive in under two minutes to finish the first half against Williams, the TD pass with 23 seconds left to beat Hamilton and the game tying 92 yard TD drive on Saturday (in which he completed two 4th down conversions) not to mention the scrambling TD pass in OT to set up the game winning extra point against Tufts. There may be others in league with better numbers, but nobody has done more for his team than McGrath. If not for his clutch performances Trinity could easily be 1-3 instead of 4-0.

One has to wonder how many more rabbits Trinity can pull out of its hat this season. With games vs Middlebury and Amherst on the horizon the Bants need to get focused for a potentially challenging road game against the underrated Polar Bears.

Nice article on boston.com about "small time" New England football (references games at Weston Field, Jessee/Miller Field and Andrus Field).

"If an actor can play, it makes the director's job easier because he doesn't have to rely on stunt doubles for everything. I played in high school and for Amherst. Besides, if you can't play, you're gonna hear all sorts of trash on the set. We used some guys from major D1 programs."
Go TIGERS!!!

Tough days for Tiger Football.

i'm a  Hamy supporter, but how come Trinity can't get any love on the top 25 on this board?

I remember covering him as a DB for Trin. He also played opposite Sean Connery in Finding Forrester and I tried trash-talking by repeatedly doing a terrible Sean Connery impression of the infamous line:"You're the man now dog!" each time I lined up across him.

I doubt it worked but I got a kick out of it.  ;D

That's opening up a big can of worms on this board and is a subject that is routinely beaten to death every time a NESCAC school is undefeated through 4 or 5 weeks.

In the listing of active streaks in d3football.com's Around the Nation Trinity shows up in the longest winning streak category (tied for 6th with 5 other schools). However, they get the snub when it comes to longest home winning streak.

The Bantams, who do not even appear on the list, have won 29 games in a row at Jessee/Miller Field a.k.a. "the Coop" dating back to the 2001 season. This would put them first nationally in DIII, ahead of Mt. Union's 26 consecutive home wins.

Where's the love?

WEEK 5 Picks

EPHS over JUMBOS - Should be a good game, the two best RBs in the league head to head

TRIN-TRIN over THE POLAR BEARS - Could be a close game, Bowdoin's defense is good, Trinity's O takes a while to get going (as of late at least)

MIDD over THE BOBCATS - Unless McKillop's arm fell off the Panthers shouldnt have problem in this game....and even if it did

LORD JEFFS over WESLEYAN - Wesleyan is having a long year after, from what i heard, their four best players got hurt in the first game and are out for the year.

COLBY over HAMMIE - This is my game of the week, if Eck is out then maybe its a different story, Snickenberger is a good RB, one of those tough kids who looks exhausted the entire game but never lets up

Better let the NCAA know. They think you've only won six in a row. That's where the data came from, as Keith mentions in the column.
