This... is a simple game. You throw the ball. You hit the ball. You catch the ball.  "There are three types of baseball players: those who make things happen, those who watch it happen, and those who wonder what happened."

McMurry SID Kyle Robarts has done a great job with the internet stuff for the athletic department.

McMurry starter Zack Hewitt pitched well for five innings. However, he ran into trouble in the sixth when he walked the leadoff batter and then on a potential double-play ball, Guse recorded a throwing error in an attempt to get the lead runner and both were safe. From there, the Panthers pounced with two consecutive doubles by Adam Koridch and Charlie Piro that brought home three runs before Mark Saatzer singled home a run to cap the four-run sixth.

Pitching and defense win Championships.

Correct Ralph. Chapman 4 losses(2 by bad defense, 2 with bad pitching). But when you have great pitching, good defense and great hitting you can pile up the W's

Chapman swept the McMurry series.

Game #1
Score by Innings                    R  H  E
-------------------------------------------
Chapman University.. 123 000 000 -  6  6  1
McMurry University.. 000 030 000 -  3  8  1
-------------------------------------------

Two unearned Chapman runs in the 2nd.

Chapman University 2nd - Saatzer flied out to rf. Surnbrock walked.
Surnbrock advanced to second on a wild pitch. Battaglia reached on an error by
3b, advanced to second, advanced to third on the throw; Surnbrock scored,
unearned. Parr walked. Parr advanced to second; Battaglia scored on a balk,
unearned. Newman struck out looking. Burnett flied out to lf. 2 (unearned) runs, 0
hits, 1 error, 1 LOB.

Game #3 was Chapman 6-5.

An unearned run (by my assessment) in the 2-run Chapman 7th lets the Panthers back into the game at 5-4.
They tie with an unearned run in the 8th.

All of McMurry's runs were earned.

Losses are never a good thing, unless it is your opponent.
But, I do believe in making lemonade when handed some lemons.

Saw most of the first game when Chapman defeated Willamette, bats were working for CU as they hit and scored in "CLUSTERS" again. Fielding is improving.  McGee and Rauh were really on.

Rain, rain, please go away.

UDallas is off to a strong start.  They could go 12-3 in-region for the rest of the season, very easily, and split the series with Trinity and Chapman, thereby finishing 16-5.

Nice to see Chapman has turned things around with 6 consecutive wins and has made adjustments required to win games

Chapman has had 2 1 run losses where poor defense cost them these games with 8 unearned runs. 13 errors during the 4 losses has been the big difference.

Chapman pitching has 8 of 10 pitchers with ERA's below 4.00 giving up 31 earned runs for 2.8 per game

Chapman is hitting .273 BA with a OBA of .383 scoring 73 runs for 6.6 runs per game. This is good enough to win games when you hold your opponents to less than 3 runs per game.

Chapman has 21 errors almost 2 errors per game.
