Chapman 19 Rutgers-Newark 1
Sigman ties career wins mark in Panthers' 11th straight win
Chapman senior Jordan Sigman tied the school record with his 30th career victory in the Panthers' 19-1 win over Rutgers-Newark at Hart Park. The right-hander allowed two hits and fanned six over five innings, facing just three batters more than the minimum in the win. Sigman has struck out 23 in five appearances this season. The victory is Chapman's 11th consecutive coming off of a 4-3 win over No. 2 ranked Kean on Friday night.

Chapman Pitcher sets Career Wins Record

Jordan Sigman - Baseball

The "old" man on a pitching staff full of youngsters (he is the only senior on the staff) is in the midst of perhaps the most dominating stretch of his career. Sigman became Chapman's Division III career wins leader last week, defeating the University of La Verne for his 31st victory. The win was his fourth in a row - a stretch in which the senior right-hander has allowed just one earned run over 23 innings pitched. That equates to a 0.39 ERA in his past four starts. Additionally, "Siggy" has allowed just 12 hits and struck out 20 in that span. His contributions helped the Panthers win 15 out of 16 and rank No. 11 in Division III. Chapman is also 18th nationally in team ERA (2.30) and 7th in hits allowed per nine innings (6.19).

Chapman Sweeps Triple header
Coach Tereschuk wins Nos. 299, 300 and 301 in tripleheader sweep

http://www.chapmanathletics.com/sports/bsb/2010-11/releases/0326

RANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University baseball team swept what may very well have been the first tripleheader in school history, defeating visiting Wheaton College (Ill.) 12-8, 2-1 and 9-2 on Saturday at Hart Park. The second win of the day gave Panthers' head coach Tom Tereschuk his 300th career head coaching victory – the first Chapman baseball coach in school history to reach that mark.

Weather and a city park closure forced the postponement of Game 1 of the three-game weekend series against the Thunder. And with Wheaton flying back to Illinois on Sunday, the Saturday's tripleheader became a reality. Archives are inconclusive whether this was the first tri-bill in Chapman history.

The three victories extend the Panthers' home winning streak to 13 games and No. 11-ranked Chapman (19-5) is now 18-1 in its past 19 games.

As for Tereschuk, the six-time West Region Coach of the Year reached the milestone 300 wins in just his ninth season at the helm of the Chapman baseball program. He has averaged over 35 wins per season and at 301-95 he has a career winning percentage of .760.

Jack Parkman

Those are some very impressive numbers by Tereschuk.  Chapman is on a roll right now and they sure have rebounded from the rough start.

Against the NAIA maybe the #5 thru #10 pitchers will get some more innings. Chapman #5 thru #10 pitchers have ERA's of 1.50 and below. Amazing stat. Chapman will need more arms with their 4 game series against Linfield and always IF they make the playoffs you always need lots of arms.

By April 17th the picture will become clear if Chapman belongs in TOP 10 and if they are on they way back to the Regionals.
I figure they need to win the Claremont, Cal Lu games and split with Linfield and sweep Dallas and take 2/3 from Redlands to make it back to Regional. Even then that might not be enough since they are ONLY 2 Pool B spots and every In Region loss could be fatal and keep you out of playoffs this year. Losses to NAIA Pt. Loma and Cal State San Marcos will have no impact to the Pool B bid process. Those early season 1 run losses plagued by errors could come back to haught them.

Chapman may be set up nicely for a Pool C bid as well.

After 5-6 days rest and 7-9 days before the next games, won't the staffs need at least 3-4 innings of work in the Point Loma and Cal State San Marcos games?  The coach might have a tighter pitch limit.

BigPoppa

They will need SOME work, but I was implying that Chapman may not throw Rauh nine innings to secure a win. It is a great chance to get guys some work and set up their arms for the grueling post0season run.
