CSU-East Bay split a 4 game series with Whittier this past weekend.

Should be an interesting tournament later this week at CSUEB -

They are hosting Chapman, Laverne, and Menlo

I am sure that this weekend's games at East Bay will eliminate a team or two form post season consideration. It should be a very good weekend of baseball. I am guessing that Chapman will do well this weekend... they are really playing well right now. This could determine seeding for the NCAA regional.

BigPoppa -

I think you may be right, but I just noticed something else that may have a big impact on the seedings for the regional -

Both CSUEB and Chapman end their seasons with series against George Fox.

One thing I love abut George Fox is they do not shy away from anyone during the scheduling. The always seem to have a tough in-region schedule... even if they have to travel quite a distance to make it happen.

Was announced today - the 4 team tournament at CSU-EB with Menlo, Laverne, CSUEB and Chapman was cancelled.

The weather has hit the Bay Area hard this year - Menlo has had something like 16 games cancelled.

It's beautiful in the OC... I wonder if Chapman and LaVerene will hook up this weekend?

Wow!  Cal State East Bay just finished off a 3 game sweep of George Fox.  How much will this help East Bay's chances of getting into a regional?  Looks like George Fox is really hurting thier seed as well.

BigPoppa

East Bay is playing to get in... George Fox is already in and that may have had a bearing on the series. I agree that it will certainly hurt their seeding and may push them into the bottom half of their regional.

Rick, when the first Regional Rankings are released (?Thursday?), we can start looking at the teams that may make it from Pool B.

Right now, I think that Chapman, CSU-East Bay, Aurora, Emory and Salisbury have good chances at 5 of the 7 Pool B bids.

We can look at the teams in Upstate New York for 1-2 more.

In the Mid-East Region Wash & Jeff is 25-9.  We need to see their in-region record!

Click here for the list of Pool B conferences and teams.

I didn't check the stats, lineups, etc, but I found it interesting that George Fox got swept near the end of the sesaon by Cal State - East Bay (and lost to them one time earlier) while they won the season-ending series (2-1) from Chapman.  - I wonder how thie will affect the rankings, seedings, etc.

Drag roughed up a bit today in Chapman's win against Menlo. Chapman was up 8-0 after Tyler Dean and Kurt Yacko's homeruns in the the 1st and 2nd innings. Drag cruised through 4, but gave up 5 in the 5th, and 2 in the 6th (all earned). Yacko came in for the 8th and 9th to secure the win for Chapman. Game 2 is going on right now with Chapman leading 5-1 after the 5th. Tyler Dean with his 2nd 2-run homer of the day.

Apparently Chapman has decided to follow in Occidental's footsteps and broadcast some of their games.  According to their website they have decided to broadcast six games via ChapmanRadio.com.  I have no idea who will be doing the broadcasts.  The dates of the games are as follows:

Mar 10  Kean (NJ)
Mar 17  Montclair St. (NJ)
Mar 24  Wesleyan (CT)
Apr 6  La Verne
Apr 21  Willamette (OR)
May 5  George Fox (OR)

All are Saturdays except April 6.

utilitycat, I will probably forget that these games are on the net, but if you could post the details on game day, you might get more traffic on the server, and I might stumble across the game.  :P

Thanks, and +1 for the post! :)
