I understand Chapman's Tyler Dean injured his ankle in the Montclair game.  Does anyone have any sort of update on the injury?  Is there any sort of time frame?  How significant does anyone think this injury will be?

Assuming he is out for a while, from what I know about this particular Chapman team, I think they may be deep enough to be okay for a while.  I don't know if they can expect to win it all without a player of his caliber.  Any opinions?

I would not be surprised if Chapman did not punch their ticket to the Regional with their 4-1 performance last week against 4 all quality teams (and all ranked in the top 20).

That may be true.  However, just getting into the playoffs is not really the test for Chapman.  They assume they will get in before the year even starts.  But when you lose arguably your best player, that may change your views on the big prize.  I would be very concerned if Tyler is out for a long time.  But, I haven't had the pleasure of seeing this years team.  I know what kind of player Tyler is, but I don't know just how good this Chapman team is.  I would be interested to hear what the Chapman fans think about their chances without Tyler, if in fact he is out.

I will find out tonight how severe his ankle is.  As far as how will they do?  The road to the regionals they can and will handle. The regionals however his play will be missed alot with this young team.  Tyler Dean is the best player and no team is as good without the best player.  If this were Yacko or Drag they would really struggle to get out of the regionals. He is the silent leader and he will contribute in what ever capacity he can.

2X All-American

Dean's ankle is a mild sprain. he was up walking lightly on it 6 hours after the game. I say with UMass-Dartmouth, Redlands, and Weseyan Conn. this week it is unlikely that he will play in those games, but ya never know how tough he is.

I would say, why risk it?

Only Redlands in an-region game.

As 2x said a mild sprain. He hit and struck out against U Mass Dartmouth. Why ? Who knows.  Redlands game rained out today. Good for Chapman as the need regroup.

With the win yesterday against Redlands, Devin Drag moves to 9-0 on the year.  He's turning into quite the little vulture. ;)  Devin has managed to record some kind of stat in every game he has appeared in this season.  7 wins in 7 starts.  In 4 relief appearances he has 2 wins and 2 saves.  Quite an impressive feat.  We'll see if it can hold up for the whole year.  I do kind of feel sorry for Yacko.  He still can't manage a win when he starts, even though he has pitched quite well.

Congrats to Chapman for moving up a spot in the polls.
