McMurry vs Chapman
The chill in the air at Hart Park on Friday did nothing to cool down the Chapman bats. The Panthers swept a doubleheader from visiting McMurry, scoring 23 runs in the two games and winning 13-4 and 10-3 to improve to 6-1 overall this season. No. 7-ranked Chapman has scored in double figures in six of its first seven games this spring and is hitting .412 as a team. Meanwhile, it's all been more than enough for the Panthers' pitching staff which has allowed just a 2.36 team earned run average in 61 innings thus far.

This upcoming weekend is big for Chapman. Another solid in-region opponent. They are currently 6-0 vs the West region.
Baseball is not a game that builds character, it is a game that reveals it.

Not much offense so far.  A lot of walks in the game.  Pomona's been the recipient of a couple tough calls by the umpires.  A possible homerun called foul, their coach was ejected (for what?  I don't know).  They also had a tough call go Chapman's way at 2nd with 2 outs bases loaded.  Runner called out, looked safe.  Would have resulted in one more run and the inning continues.  Should be a good finish.

Game ended Pomona 12 - Chapman 5.

Kang hit a two run homerun in the 8th, and that was all they needed.  Pomona's bats woke up at the end, but it was a pretty ugly game.  Chapman did not pitch well at all, they walked double digit batters, hit a few more, balked one run in, and a wild pitch scored another run.  Pomona was the better team in this game for sure.

#8 DIII Chapman(11-3) faces DII Cal State Dominguez Hills(12-7) today at 2 PM PT. CSUDH last year played in the DII West Region playoffs in Oregon while Chapman was in the DIII West Region playoffs also in Oregon at the same time.

Chapman should roll in these games. Still, OXY is my favorite all-time place to play. Students are hilarious and really give it to your players (provided they are not on spring break). I once had to pull one of my outfielders as some girl was so hard on him that he fell apart in right field.
