MSU will play Hopkins tomorrow night. The past few years Montclair has been beaten badly, but they usually throw 9 pitchers in 9 innings. They have the final weekend of conference play coming up, and their schedule the past two weeks has been six games tues-sat, with a double header sat. Def tough on the staff, shows in the numbers. Hopkins certainly has a great team this year, and MSU has been playing well as of late, so hopefully we will see a good game.

Just popped in here to see what you guys were saying about Montclair and TCNJ since Hopkins is due to face both. Was disappointed to see today's game got postponed but can't wait for Montclair/Hopkins tomorrow. Baseball1001, you mentioned Montclair has used a lot of pitchers lately. Hopkins has also been busy with five games in six days last week, should make tomorrow's match-up interesting.

Montclair's loss to WP today creates a four way tie for first with 3 games to go. Three of those teams (Kean, Rowan, and TCNJ) ranked in the region top 6. The playoffs will mean the world this year, I think.

Three way tie going into the final double headers tomorrow. Kean, TCNJ, Montclair. Rowan one game back. Kean/TCNJ meet tomorrow and Montclair/Rowan meet as well. Gonna be some good stuff. All four teams are ranked regionally. 1 TCNJ, 3 Rowan, 4 Montclair, 6 Kean. NJAC regular season Champion up for grabs. If Kean, TCNJ, or Montclair sweep they are guaranteed at least a tie for first. Tourny time next week. Cant wait. Good luck to all.

Kean v TCNJ Saturday -- Two excellent games, well pitched and great defense. Kean swept and won the NJAC regular season. Now the playoffs!!!

rjburke

The playoffs have been excellent. three tight games. today should continue the process if the weather holds.

Kean vs. MSU final, very exciting stuff, good rivalry amongst the two teams. Kean is in the driver's seat needing just one win, MSU needs to sweep.

my son's friend recommended this site. love it that someone covers div3 baseball. ca,'t believe that there isn't more action on this topic. njac is the best div3 baseball conference in the us of a.

i am bummed because my profs got knocked out of the tourney by msu, no less, and that they may have blown the chance at a regional invite. still, i'm going to the finals today to see some great baseball.

did anybody else think the all conference picks were a little off?

Whether football, basketball or baseball — you'll always find that the NJAC coaches will lean heavily on the side of the departing seniors when it comes to the All Conference selections.

jersybaseballguy

too true.

the njac final was a blowout and boring.

i expect the regionals will be too. kean and hopkins are the only real quality, unless rowan gets in.

In Flander's Field
by John McCrae
In Flanders Fields the poppies blow,
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky,
The larks, still bravely singing, fly,
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead.
Short days ago,
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved and now we lie,
In Flanders Fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe
To you, from failing hands, we throw,
The torch, be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us, who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow,
In Flanders Fields.

Baseball transfer coming in next season according to THIS article.

"Jordan Marsch, who is headed to Rowan University this fall after two fine seasons at Brookdale Community College."

Marsch, a 6'2" 190 lb outfielder from Brick Township High School, hit a team-high .423 (8th League) in 2007 for a team that went 40-10 with a first-place 14-2 GSAC record. The team advanced to the Junior College World Series for the third time in a row and the 11th time in the school's history. The Jersey Blues finished fourth in the World Series in Tyler, Texas. The sophomore class finished with a two year combined record of 82-20 and back to back Conference and Region Championships.

Looks like a good get.
