Ramapo is looking real solid in the conference.  They play a doubleheader at TCNJ this Saturday and at home against Kean on April 26th.  Besides those games the remaining schedule is very soft and winnable games.  I still think they are going to get into the NCAA's....barring a total collapse.

By the way....all NJAC games were cancelled today because of the huge rain storm in the Northeast.

Spence

Yeah it looks more and more like Ramapo is going to be there. And Montclair is going to have to win the tournament or catch some kind of on fire really soon for there to be a 4th.

Lefty

I personally think Montclair is done.  The team that might sneak up and take the fourth bid is Stockton.  They have a tough schedule with TCNJ and Kean (DH) ahead but they are 18-8-1 overall and 6-4 in the conference.  I would think they need to finish strong and win a couple of games in the tournament.

Spence

Do you think Stockton has the non-conference schedule to do it? Obviously if they take 3 out of 4 or something from Kean and TCNJ things might look a little different, but they really haven't beaten too many good teams so far.

Lefty

You are correct about the soft Stockton schedule.  They only have a few good non-conference wins.  They split with Plattsburgh St back in early March and a sweep of Ursinus in late March.  I think they need to go 6-2 in their last eight games (2-1 against Kean and TCNJ).....not an easy thing to do.  They also might need to win a game or two in the Conference playoffs.

From the NJAC website:

Cacchiola earns NJAC Rookie honors for the second time this season after hitting .471 (8-for-17) with two doubles, two triples, one home run, six RBI, and five runs scored in a 4-1 week for the Roadrunners. He hit safely in 3-of-4 games including a 6-for-6 performance with a double, two triples, a home run, four RBI and four runs scored in Ramapo's 22-7 non-conference road win at John Jay. He also recorded a hit in a pair of conference contests against Montclair State and Rowan, while notching a triple and two RBI in a loss to the Red Hawks. Cacchiola hit for the cycle in the John Jay victory.

Nice win by RU-Newark upsetting first place Kean.

Lefty

The NJAC has two great great match-ups this weekend and the playoff seedings should really get a little clearer.

Both are Doubleheaders
5th place Richard Stockton travels to 2nd place Kean
1st place Ramapo travels to 3rd place TCNJ

phil

TCNJ sweeps Ramapo 14-3 and 7-5. Haran had 8 RBIs on the day with a three-run homer in the nightcap.

Spence

Kean and Stockton split. Kean won behind Zeffiro and lost with Cupido throwing.
