NJAC scores from 4-30:

Kean 10, NJCU 6
Montclair State 7, Rutgers-Newark 6
Richard Stockton 2, Rowan 0

Lefty

Here are the final standings for the six playoff teams:

Kean 15-3
TCNJ 14-4
Montclair 12-6
Ramapo 11-7
Rowan 10-8
Stockton 9-8-1

My predictions below were pretty close.  Ramapo was my only big mistake....getting swept by Paterson in the final weekend of the season is not the best way to go into the playoffs.  They better win a couple of games in the playoffs if the want a Pool C bid.

A very intriguing first round game is Rowan at TCNJ.

NJAC Conference Tournament:

Thursday, May 3, 2007
(@Campus Sites)
Game 1: #1 Kean (H) 6, #6 Richard Stockton (A) 1
Game 2: #2 TCNJ (H) 6, #5 Rowan (A) 1
Game 3: #3 Montclair State (H) 7, #4 Ramapo (A) 1

Saturday, May 5, 2007
(@Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium - Newark, NJ)
Game 4: #6 Richard Stockton vs. #5 Rowan, 10:00 AM
Game 5: #1 Kean (A) at #4 Ramapo (H),  2:00 PM
Game 6: #2 TCNJ vs. #3 Montclair State, 6:00 PM

Ramapo loses to Montclair and now has to face top seed Kean....they are in trouble for that Pool C bid.

Spence

If Ramapo is in trouble, and Johns Hopkins is maybe in trouble...what are we looking at for Pool C here? The PAC and NJAC and nothing else?

The South region's bubble teams have to be smiling.

Lefty

Rowan knocks off Stockton 8-7 on a walk-off hit by Tom Ready to advance in the NJAC Tournament.

Lefty

Kean pounded Ramapo 17-2 in today's tournament.  Kean did not start Zeffiro today so it looks like he will start tomorrow against the winner of the late game, Montclair and TCNJ.

Lefty

According to Montclair's website......

TCNJ 9, Montclair St. 7

Tomorrow's schedule:

Kean vs. TCNJ @ 10:00 am
Rowan vs. Montclair @ 2:00 pm
loser of Kean/TCNJ vs. winner of Rowan/Montclair @ 6:00 pm

Confidence there from Kean to not go with him. YOu don't think they'll go with him against TCNJ to try to get to the championship round?

Yes, I do think we will see Zeffiro today against TCNJ.  He has not pitched against TCNJ this year and that is a huge advantage.  In the regular season Kean threw Cupido and Augustine against TCNJ.  If they get by TCNJ today they can always come back with Augustine on three days rest.

TCNJ gets the bases loaded with no outs in the bottom of the 11th and can't score the winning run.....two great teams playing their hearts out.

Spence

Why the heck did they try to steal third?

They had bases loaded.....I am sure he took too big of a lead and the catcher picked him off.

Lefty

Well TCNJ scored a run the bottom of the 12th to win 4-3.  Now Kean has to play the winner of Rowan/Montclair at 6:00 pm tonight.
