Good feed from Kean at the NJAC tourney. Kudos all around. It's giving me something  good to do this early in the morning. Geez, an 8 a.m. start to a winner's bracket game. That's rough.

Mike Trout from Millville, NJ and the AA Arkansas Travelers is Baseball America's Minor League POTY.

Just some thoughts to the NJAC season this year. IMHO there are a group of teams that could make some noise. Willy P, Ramapo, Kean, Rowan, Montclair and watch out for TCNJ. A good week for Montclair knowing off Top 25's E.Conn, taking (2) from Ramapo and spliting with Kean this weekend (losing by (1) in the opener and spanking them in the second). Too bad from the looks of things (2) may go to the dance and (3) will be disappointed. Life in the NJAC. I think Montclair has Keystone tomorrow. Should be interesting. ;)

Montclair - ??  Wow - what is the situation?  I feel bad for Norm Shonig - With the forfiets does that send a ripple effect throughout D3 baseball? do the forfeits change to wins for the opponents?  What does this do to OWP and OOWP? - Is this real? - Does anyone know the effect?

Baseball Eliminated from NJAC Tournament By Vote of Conference Administrators
Does this only affect games the Student athlete played in? - How can the initial ifo say the kid is OK and then later say no. - WHO'S FAULT IS THIS?

The student-athlete had been declared eligible based upon appropriate documentation received by the University from prior academic institutions. Recently new information was presented that upon further investigation revealed that the student-athlete was, in fact, ineligible.

How is this montclairs fault?  WOW  Unreal.

Thoughts?

This almost sounds like a set-up. The word "Politics comes in play, maybe?"

gap to gap

Sounds like he was cleared but the school hadn't done enough research to find out if he actually was. All schools have compliance directors whose sole job is to manage these situations. If they did their work that is too bad that they were given the wrong information from the other school involved. If that info was good then shame on them for running the year for not only this kid but fellow seniors who now will go out without the chance to play in the post season.

On another note what did they do with the tourney. Why would they give the #5 a bye and not add another team or give that bye to Kean

AlleyCat

Was he a positional player or a pitcher? A pitcher only impacts a few games.

Not the first time the Montclair administration failed to properly look into the credentials of a transfer/athlete properly. Rams knows what I mean.

No set-up. Montclair self-reported to the NJAC & NCAA.

As fine a D-III baseball conference as we have, and this is the most activity that we have had in the seven seasons that the NJAC board has been around...

Agreed that they self reported, but why wait till the NJAC tournament. They were finailly ranked #25 / #23 respectfully and then the roof fell in. Can't compare the Baseball team to Teddy and the boys, and Giancola took care of business when he had to. Something just does not add up.

Agree completely. Unfortunately as we know from the evening news and daily papers (to the extent they still exist and are read) the negative stories create the interest. I have always wondered why a conference with such good baseball and passionate followers was not discussed more on this board. Must be a Jersey thing.

Because there is so much else going on around NJ that D3 sports are not really that well attended except for parents, students and some very passionate fans.  Besides it's fishing season around here.

What effect will the MSU NCAA Violation have on opportunity to play in Regional?
