Sounds like a couple of truckers talking on their CB's....  10-4,,, 10-4...  that was the score of both TU-SW games this weekend...

The Pirates have had some bad luck this year with injuries and other things... Maybe they'll finish strong.

I glad to know that the Illinois Wesleyan games don't have any impact on NCAA bids since Millsaps lost both games this weekend.  The Saturday game was cancelled but then the decision was made to play and IW came away with a 10-8 win on a cold, wet day.  Sunday was a worse day and I didn't think there was any way that the teams would play but the SCAC scoreboard shows that IW won another close game, taking an 8-7 victory over Millsaps.

There's a story on the Millsaps website for the Saturday game but no box score.  On the IW website they have no results or box scores for any of the games this season.  Millsaps plays Mississippi College this Tuesday evening.

Frank,
Box scores are now posted on the SCAC site for both IWU/Millsaps games,

Game 1 - http://www.scac-online.org/baseball/mc19.htm
Game 2 - http://www.scac-online.org/baseball/mc20.htm

as well as all other games from the weekend (except for 4 Centre games - not yet received).

Millsaps beat Mississippi College 5-4 in 10 innings last night.  It keeps Millsaps in the lead for the Con Maloney trophy, and annual competition between Millsaps, MC, and Belhaven College.  Here's the story and a link to the box score from the Mississippi College website:

Millsaps plays at Rust College in Holly Springs, MS this Friday and then they go to Hendrix for a 3-game weekend series.

This sets up the crucial 4 game weekend marathon with Rhodes tomorrow....

It should be an interesting weekend at Trinity.  Rhodes has the best record in the SCAC at 17-4 which is slightly better than Trinity at 17-6 and Millsaps at 15-6.  I'm not sure when Rhodes last went to the SCAC Tournament but they have a good chance of being in the top three in the West this year if they don't stumble this weekend.

Frank,
To answer your question, Rhodes has never been...the only school in the SCAC that has never qualified for the postseason conference baseball tournament.

Rhodes didn't look like a post-season qualifying team as they got whacked by TU 9-0 in the weekend opener...

Looks like tomorrows starters will be Oates and Huggins.... stay tuned...

Millsaps won at Rust on Friday and took two at Hendrix on Saturday.  They will play a single game against Hendrix today.

It certainly appears that Trinity is playing the best ball in the SCAC at the moment.  The one x-factor in that statement is that Trinity has had the luxury of playing 21 of their last 22 games at home.  They lost the one road game during that stretch and are only 2-3 on the road but that doesn't mean much since those games were so early in the season.  It all should make for some great baseball when Trinity visits Millsaps next weekend.

The Tigers won the weekend series from Rhodes 3 games to 1 and thus clinched the 2006 season series; games #2 and #3 were played as Rhodes home games to make up for the earlier ppd. bad weather games. A game #5 may be played when the Tigers travel for their weekend games at Hendrix.
