ifd...  good to see you and 'the better half' in SAT last Saturday.  How did the Austin Marathon go?

Bob, i.e. HistoryMajor, it was great seeing you also.
We so much enjoy being at TU and seeing great friends and supporters like you and Theo.
Being with the Coaches for even a few minutes was great.
The Austin Marathon was......long, very long.
About mile 15, Shmos started suggesting marathoners don't have calves like I do.
We had a great talk for the next 11.2 miles or so.
Not sure who prevailed.
Time wasn't great but I finished.
I think I heard Shmos say "nice job."
I know I said I love you Chris..in between gasps.

Tell Schmos to come out to SW series in Georgetown, or come down to SAT and see the 'new Tigers'.

A big series this weekend as the Tigers travel to Hendrix.  Trinity needs two wins to keep pace with Millsaps.  A sweep would be bad news for Hendrix, starting conference 0-6.  I will be very curious to see how the Tigers respond to what happened last year.  The older guys, I am sure, remember watching Hendrix celebrate in Mississippi last year as they waxed TU in the finals.  Hopefully the weather will be good and we can watch two good games....

Hendrix has really been struggling to find that clutch hit this year.  Watching them lose some close games with the pretty solid pitching performances has been tough.  Hopefully they can find it this weekend.  A win or two would really get them on track.

LET'S GO WARRIORS!

I noticed that, just by looking at their stats.  They have a decent average, been running the bases, but aren't scoring runs.  Nothing against you, but I hope the bats continue to sleep through this weekend  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Unfortunately those averages are somewhat skewed by the first weekend against the University of Dallas.  I think the warriors had around 40 hits in the 3 game set.  Since then the Warriors have had a tough go of it at the plate.

Hendrix just beat Trinity 13-12 in the bottom of the 9th with a bases loaded hit to left by Mathis! Trinity was up 12-2 until the 7th.

That's an amazing turnaround and an improbable win that was greatly needed by Hendrix.

Millsaps edged Piedmont 6-5 in a 10 inning game.  Not much output from either team at the plate along with some good effort by both teams on the mound.  The two teams will play a single game tomorrow but the games this weekend aren't being webcast because of a conflict with the basketball tournament.

Oglethorpe won a pitchers duel in Atlanta today 4-1 versus Johnson & Wales. Matt Cornwell threw a complete game striking out 16 and allowing just 4 hits. The Petrel offense was held in check today for the first time all season... JJ Rizzo led the offense going 2-4 with a HR and a double.

WOW!  What a stunning game for Hendrix.  I believe they were an out away from being run ruled at one point.  I think it bears mentioning that the Hendrix bullpen threw a no-hitter after the 4th inning very impressive stuff for a couple 2nd years.  Should be interesting to see what happens tomorrow after such a huge swing at the end of this first game.  More great SCAC baseball on the way!

JimiBall

An awesome team victory for Hendrix today.  Every starter had a hit or an RBI and the bullpen locked down TU for the final 6 innings.  All but one of the Warrior runs scored with 2 outs - finally got some of those good swings to find dirt and grass instead of leather.  Next time someone wants you to leave a baseball game early, go back to Feb 27, 2010 and think "Warrior magic" - it really is a 9 inning game.

AC took two from Southwestern yesterday and will be looking for their 5th straight win today.  Steed and Chermak have been impressive on the mound the past two weekends, and if they keep it up the 'Roos will be tough to beat when those two are on the hill.  Chermak had 10 k's in 5.0 innings of work yesterday.

I know it's early in the season, even in the West, but what a big difference that Hendrix comeback made in the feel of things.  In a game that was a blowout with the final few innings being more of a formality, it looked like Trinity was going to move to 4-0 and a first place tie with Millsaps, and Hendrix was going to drop to a devastating 0-5 beginning.

Instead, Hendrix got some life and now has a 5-1 lead in the bottom of the 4th of today's game with a chance to go to 2-4 if they can hang on.  Trinity might fall to 3-2 and Austin could take over 2nd place in the West.  Obviously, a lot can happen in the last half of a game, but that game yesterday seems like it was a lot more than just 1/20th of the SCAC schedule.

Hendrix completes the sweep and wins 7-4. Smoyer pitches 5 2/3 for the win.

An awesome weekend for Hendrix, that really shakes things up in the SCAC west!  Never, would I have thought a visit from TU is just what Hendrix would need to get things on track.

Way to go WARRIORS!!!
