Not seeing many votes  for the SCAC Teams in the Rankings this week . I do see that Trinity moved up rightfully so. Thought maybe Millsaps would have also moved with a two out of three weekend  beating a ranked team that moved right on up.

Word is SAA conference schedule will be all nine inning games and left up to the coaches to when they will play their games over the course of the weekend. The teams I've heard from are all playing single games from Friday-Sunday.

Friday - 9
Saturday - 9
Sunday- 9

I agree with Hangm. Although Trinity got a lot of attention last weekend vs Chapman, Millsaps has quietly moved to the top of the SCAC East, where everyone was talking about BSC preseason. It would not surprise me one bit to see a SCAC conference game on Sunday being Trinity vs Millsaps.

Has anyone heard the format for the SAA baseball race in 2013?

Fri single 9 inning game; Saturday 7/9 DH?
Why would that be?
I was postulating.  That is the format that the ASC uses.  With the travel distances involved, it makes sense for the athletes to leave on Thursday afternoon, spend Thursday night and Friday night and drive home on Saturday if the games don't get postponed until Sunday.

Always seems to take a week or two for teams not on the radar to show up in the poll.   Coach Page has 'em goin' again.

BSC at Millsaps tonight should give us an early look into the battle for the Eastern Div.

I doubt TU is going to want its atheltes missing two days of school.....

So the conference formed on the basis of cost containment, localized geography, and less missed class time has added football affilates in Chicago and St Louis and now apparently 4 day road trips for baseball.  Go figure.

Respectfully, the question was directed that the eastern half of the board.

I do have a serious question for the members of this board.

What is the current travel format for Trinity playing at Hendrix?

When do you leave San Antonio?  When do you arrive in Conway?  How to you travel? Bus all the way?

How does Rhodes handle the Oglethorpe series?

Raise your hand if you think those were the only (or even primary) reasons for the split.

Anyone?

Hello?

Bueller??

To answer Ralph's question I looked at the Trinity site and they play two games on Sat, and a single game on Sunday. I am pretty sure they will be traveling by bus, which is about a 10HR trip. So they will likely leave early Friday morning, get in an afternoon practice Friday night, games on weekend, back on bus Sunday. Gives the student-athletes ample time to catch up on homework.  ;D

The split was stupid IMO, and it hurts the Eastern schools much more than the Western schools, as they are already have in place what is needed to keep their AQ's in everything except football and this will get worked out in the next year.

The SAA will have the AQ in all pertinent sports by 2014-15.

Just popped in and saw that BSC spanked Millsaps 10-5. 16 hits, sounds like a statement game.

Ralph--
My apologies...For whatever reason, I read that as the SCAC and though you were talking about the new SCAC that included TU...not the new conference being formed.  I made that assumption because the ASC now does Friday/Sat games instead of Sat/Sun games.

Front just pushed through Austin is going to make for a much colder (and possibly wet) evening for Trinity's game tonight with DeSales.  It's not there yet but has just pushed through Boerne, should arrive around gametime or shortly thereafter.

With 15-20 MPH winds from the north you won't see many HRs to left field!
