what is going on in San Antonio with Trinity? losing games that they should be winning and not using their entire pen? Noticed that they have not thrown their closers since mid year and the starters are struggling.  Are they injured? Looks like Bogese has really struggled and same with Walker and Gray recently.  not the way to win a regional
they have to get there first.

not sure Trinity can get there. I know that the SCAC is down this year but the lack of timely hitting and lack of using all pitchers is just mind blowing.  Once you get by Speer there is huge drop off.  They have a few pitchers with ERA of 0.00; where are they in these games?

I agree, there is no reason they should have lost that game. (errors aside) This is probably the 4th game they have lost this year due to poor bullpen management, not a good way to roll into the SCAC tournament. They have two guys down there that should be automatic 8th and 9th inning relievers and neither has pitched much. Seriously it should be game over after the 7th.

Well....trinity has a 50% chance of the Pool a bid right now. Either they can win the tourney or Centenary can win the tourney, giving trinity the pool a bid. It will be interesting to see who starts game 1 vs southwestern next Friday.

Trinity needs to win the Pool A bid or they could be staying home with their 30 win season. Ask Pac Lu about winning 30 games in the season and not going to the regionals.
This... is a simple game. You throw the ball. You hit the ball. You catch the ball.  "There are three types of baseball players: those who make things happen, those who watch it happen, and those who wonder what happened."

agreed...they arent getting a Pool C.  However, they can win the tourney or have Centenary win it and Trinity will receive the Pool A bid

....ahhh TLU might have something to say about this.

I am still flabbergasted about Trinity's bull pen management, (or lack of) over the past 6 weeks. I just don't get it.

not discounting TLU or Southwestern by any means, but the fact that Trinity is the top seed means they get the Pool A bid if Centenary were to win the tournament.  Getting a Pool A bid from 2 of the 4 teams winning the tourney is better than having to win it yourself.

If any of the other three teams makes it to the finals against Centenary they get the automatic bid. ::)

dont think that is how it works.  If Centenary were to win the tournament, the Pool A bid would go to the top seed of the regular season, no matter how the tournament ended.  At least, that was how it was last year.  Cent was the top seed, Trinity being the #2 seed.  If Cent would have played Dallas for the conference championship and Cent won, Trinity would have received the Pool A bid since they were the highest seeded (non-Centenary) team.
If any of the other three teams makes it to the finals against Centenary they get the automatic bid. ::)

You are correct. I forgot.
no worries.  will Centenary be eligible next year?

108 Stitches

I believe they are. They are a young team and should be much better next year.

Ron Boerger

The good news for Trinity is (like most teams) they play much better at home (16-1) than on the road (14-7).

The bad news is that, should they qualify, the Regionals are not at home.   :(
