I was curious about the Emory record against ranked teams after I looked at the 10-6 Millsaps record.  Someone may want to double check me but I think I have this right:

1-0 vs. Juniata College, 8th in Mid-Atlantic
1-0 vs. Adrian College, 7th in Mideast
1-0 vs. Washington University, 5th in Central
0-2 vs. Huntingdon College, 6th in South
0-2 vs. Millsaps College, 3rd in South
0-1 vs. Greensboro, tied for 8th in South

That comes to a 3-5 record, including an 0-5 record verses the ranked teams in the South Region.  Could we get a recount.

By the way, I tried to look at the Salisbury record against ranked teams and it did looked pretty good.  Maybe it was somewhere in the neighborhood of 9-3 but I may not have that quite right.

Emory's 0-5 record versus in-region ranked teams could play a factor in their NCAAS. I doubt they would be left out, but it may impact their seeding.

I consider you my mentor, Ralph. You have taught me well.

The NCAA regional polls are expected to be released tomorrow..... Look to the South Region where, unlike the ABCA polls, Millsaps will be listed as the number one seed!

What is Millsaps in-region record versus ranked opponents?

As long as they got the abacus fixed, that is.

The May 2nd ABCA poll is out with Trinity inching up to #10 and Millsaps staying at #14.  They have Chapman at #7.

In the regional rankings you have Chapman followed by Trinity in the West and Millsaps follows Salisbury and Emory in the South.

In looking at the regional rankings I find 5 teams that Millsaps has played this season.  Millsaps went 2-0 vs. Emory, 2-0 vs. Huntingdon, 4-3 vs. Trinity, 2-1 vs. Mississippi College and 0-2 vs. Illinois Wesleyan.  That's a 10-6 record against regional ranked teams which isn't too bad.  (For those interested, the other 5 losses were to East Texas Baptist, Hendrix, Rhodes twice, and Belhaven College).

Big Poppa--Here's the Millsaps record against all the teams that are ranked in the ABCA poll.  Emory and Huntingdon are in the South, Trinity and MC in the West and Ill. Wesleyan is in the Central.  I'm not sure if Trinity and MC are considered in-region on this since one is in the 200 mile zone and one is a conference opponent.

Frank your suspicions are correct.

Millsaps opponents are in-region if:

1) they are SCAC members, e.g.; Trinity or DePauw.
2) they are in the South Evaluation Region, e.g., Emory or Huntingdon.(Please see Handbook.)
3) they are from another evaluation region, but the campus is within a 200-mile radius, e.g., Mississippi College. (Did we confirm whehter Louisiana College in Pineville is less than 200 miles away officially?)

Pineville is 190 miles from Jackson according to MSN driving directions and Mapquest directions.

I've got the long-awaited first NCAA regional poll posted on the SCAC website:

That should be good for a karma point, shouldn't it Ralph?

Consultant was halfway right on the thought that both Millsaps and Trinity might take the #1 spot in their regions.  At least he got the important half right, and since Trinity has the automatic bid it was obviously much more important to Millsaps that they get ranked tops in their region.
