Hopefully our record-low 7 voters was a one-time Super Bowl glitch!

Note the top 21 teams were named on every ballot (I'm sure that is a first)!

I think its interesting that Lawrence gets 5 votes, but still trails Williams and UWO (only 3 votes).  I'll chalk it up to the small sample size.

Exactly.  Outliers make a huge difference with such a small sample.  The 18th place votes for Williams and UWO count as much as TWO 22nd place votes, and the 21st comes to one more point than the 23rd and 25th put together.

It's even more striking comparing UWP and Wooster.  4 of the 7 voters for UWP put them below Woo's lowest placement, but the 4th and 6th place votes put them over the top.

Moral of the story: we need more voters next week!  (Super Bowl hangovers should be cured by then! ;D)

I am reconnected now.  I'll have to catch up on two weeks worth of happenings this weekend, but I should be ready to screw up the voting once again.

Well after Puget Sound's preformance the past two weeks I won't have much to complain about...

It honestly was nothing against UPS, I just had the NWC ranked too high at the beginning of the year.  This one seems to be a down year for the conference as a whole, even if it's quite competitive.

True there isn't any separation in the conference...7 of the 9 teams are still in the race for the 3 playoff spots

I've got my 25 rearranged, just waiting for the rest of the pertinent results from this afternoon to make the final adjustments.

I don't want you to have any regrets this week so I hope you've included the team I've been touting all along. And preferrably in the top half of the poll.  ;) ;D

After several weeks of tearing the old poll into shreds and starting over, this weeks work will be a refreshing change.

Are you referring to Centre?  They've been in my poll before now.  My problem was that I don't think the SCAC is as good as they were the last couple of years.  However, Centre is really proving they can win consistently and win well, even with the heavy travel load.

I've got them higher than I'd like to have them right now, but I just don't see anyone who deserves to be up there.  We're really heavy on power conferences this year with not too many outliers really proving themselves.  It should make for a good tournament, but I fear we'll have too many deserving teams from big conferences sitting at home (not that I'm against the selection system; it is what it is).

No. I was referring to Plattsburgh State where 2 weeks ago you left them out but said you may come to regret it. They have went 5-0 since that time and are now 19-2 overall and 12-0 in a tough SUNYAC conference that's probably as strong as it's been in the past 4 or 5 years if not longer.  So I was plugging them.

Gotcha.  Plattsburgh is indeed in, although not yet in the top half.  I am unimpressed with most teams below #8, however, so they have a good shot.

The reason I thought I might regret it is because I was afraid the conference might be a lot better than I expected it to be.
