No. I was referring to Plattsburgh State where 2 weeks ago you left them out but said you may come to regret it. They have went 5-0 since that time and are now 19-2 overall and 12-0 in a tough SUNYAC conference that's probably as strong as it's been in the past 4 or 5 years if not longer.  So I was plugging them.

I am a Centre supporter, but I moved up Plattsburgh St several places on my ballot this week.

And I did the same for your Centre team.

Mr. Ypsi

Now, now, gentlemen - let's not get into "I'll boost your team if you boost mine"! ;D ;)

I've tabulated 5 ballots so far (last week we dropped to only 7, so looks promising).  So far 19 teams appear on all 5, and 6 more on 4, and that so far is our top 25.  But only a few of them show much agreement on where in the top 25 they belong.  All spots (except perhaps #1) are still very much up for grabs, so keep those ballots comin'!

Mr. Ypsi,

I had already posted my ballot before reading pbrooks3's post. As you well know!!!  :D ;D

Mr. Ypsi

We've exceeded last week already, with 8 ballots in.  Let's get double-digits!

If you haven't voted yet, be assured that your vote will matter - #1 looks set (no surprise to anyone who looks at last week, and notes that our #2 and #3 teams both lost) and, interestingly, so is #12 (I just won't say who it is!).  Every other spot, from #2 to #24 is hotly contested, and several teams are in the running for #25.  (With 8 voters we are only 7 teams over the minimum, and four of those are 1-ballot 'orphans' - amazing agreement on who; a lot of disagreement on where!)

Mr. Ypsi

9 ballots.  While there are a number of others I (naively?) hope for, there aren't any others I truly expect.  Any more ballots in the pipeline?

If I don't hear of others brfore then, I'll start typing in about a half hour.

Well Puget Sound is right about where I thought they would end up.

Hey, I only voted for three schools that ended up outside our Top 25.  Maybe I'm losing my touch?

Three teams I strongly considered that I was surprised got no love:

DePauw (though they fnally got 2 points on the last ballot) - winner of 8 straight, and now 18-4.

Bowdoin, now also 18-4 and challenging in the NESCAC (though lost to Middlebury, who did get 2 points at 17-5).

Wittenberg, winner of 14 of their last 15 (including over Woo) - I suspect their horrendous 1-5 start may have taken them permanently off many radar screens.

I suspect that 19 teams being named on ALL ballots, and another 3 on 8 of 9, may be a new all-time high on consensus (despite the return of Hoops Fan ;D).

That was me, and it seems like for the second year in a row I'm the lone believer in the Tigers.  Maybe its just man love? :D  I should seek therapy.

Penciled them in for next week re-evaluation

The win over Woo was nice and a surprise, certainly a terrific win.  The problem I have beyond just the 6 losses is that of those 14 wins in 15 games only 2 have come vs a team with a winning record, Wabash  and Wooster.  The other team with a winning record they faced Ohio Wesleyan, they lost to.  Their 2 non-con wins came against 10-12 UW LaCrosse, and current MIAA last place Olivet (they're behind Alma for crying out loud)

Nothing that Witt has accomplished yet screams top 20 team at me right now.

Mr. Ypsi

sac,

If you continue that 'Tiger crush', beware of Little Giants on your front lawn! :o  Actually, I'm not quite ready to rank them yet, but I'm glad someone did.

Good points on Witt (and despite the way I worded that, they're on my radar but I actually rejected them fairly early; I guess my surprise is that they are WITT, all-time winningest team: someone was bound to rank them!).  And in fairness, I suspect many of those losing-record teams they beat are still better than the great majority of teams on some ranked teams' schedules.

Mr. Ypsi

I finally took a look at the real poll and found a name I'd totally left off my radar: Maryville (TN) enters at #25.  Since they are a perennial tourney team (pool B, usually the leader), I'm not sure why I completely forgot to check them (probably their suspect schedule).  They've split with Averett and Emory and otherwise beaten everyone they've faced (now 20-2, with a 13-game winning streak).

I don't think I'm ready to vote for them yet, but I'll be watching if others fall.  (Right now I'd have them perhaps 30-35 and there is probably nothing they can do but keep winning and wait for others to lose - their opponents just don't impress me as 'signature' wins.)
