Mr. Ypsi

sac, you actually had Wooster (at 18th) lower than most (they were pulled down by a voter who omitted them entirely).  Otherwise I have not yet calculated all your votes! ;)

But it does amuse me (when the usual fear is 'homers') that you Hope voters always lower their ranking!  Has Hope actually moved from Holland to Lake Wobegon?   The children may all be above average, but the 'parents' seem pretty much in need of a self-esteem boost! ;D

As I said to MrY in a PM I had Wooster higher than most, I added the points incorrectly.  I did not have Wooster 18th.

The poll has been edited to reflect that.

Mr. Y

Are you doing a posters' poll this year?

Mr. Y

Are you doing a posters' poll this year?

Yep.  But as always it won't start 'til January (probably as of games of the 10th).

Glad to hear that. One more thing to help pass the long North Country winter.

Me too, I always like getting it from a different perspective.

Is the poster's poll going to happen?

I'll start tallying ballots a week from tomorrow (for games through the 11th); so it will happen as long as there are voters!

Thanks for doing it again this year!

+1!  :)

I'll probably do this again this year.  So for now,  giddy up!

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT OF 2009 POSTER'S POLL.

Each week's poll covers games through Sunday.  There are (usually) few enough relevant games on Sunday that ballots can be prepared by Saturday (allowing for Sunday upsets).  Since we are in no way in competition with the d3hoops.com poll, I've decided to relax the submission time for ballots to 6 pm (EST) Tuesday (though I'd appreciate ballots being submitted before viewing the 'gold standard' poll).  Unless you plan to TRY to participate each week, your ballot will mess up continuity; but we do encourage as many as possible (last year we fell to only 8-10 per week - c'mon, make me work!).

If you look back through this thread, you will see that the Posters' Poll has largely succeeded in it's mission of encouraging discussion among knowledgeable national fans - WHY do you feel that team X over (or under) rated?  We don't intend to compete with the 'real' poll, but we also don't intend to simply reflect it (what would be the point?) - so if you follow the national scene, come express your opinions.

Week one will cover games thru January 11; ballots are due (at the latest) by 6 pm (EST) on January 13th.  Please submit ballots by PM to "Mr. Ypsi".

To past voters, thanks for coming back.  To new voters, welcome aboard - it's a lot of work to try to do it right, but it's a blast! :)
