Would I take too much crap for putting Eau Claire at #25?  They at least appear like they want to win some games.

11-6 overall, 4-5 in the WIAC, seems like quite a stretch, but you'd get no crap from me.  They do have a win over UWW.

I'm taking nominations for the 25th spot on my ballot this week.  I'm very, very undecided.

Amherst is sitting there right now with CMS, Wittenberg, Brandeis, and Cabrini as possibilities.

I can't find a single team I want to back at #25.  Suggestions?

You mentioned before that you were reconsidering your Calvin ranking. Are you going to drop them out completely or just move them down a bit? I am strongly considering the Calvin Knights in my 25 this week.

I have them down at about #35, although with all the losses the past few days, they might not be a bad choice.

There are currently only 5 teams ranked with more than 2 losses...........4 with 3 losses and 1 with 4 losses.

I think CMS is deserving for a top 25 vote. Since the start of the season and 2 losses to Willamette and St. Olaf, they have not lost to a D3 team (only loss was to Concordia (NAIA-1, #2 nationally) and won AT Chapman. They are 5-0 in conference now, with a big game vs Pomona on Wednesday for first place. They have shown improvement and I would put them in a top 25

You're Captain Outlier, man. We expect weirdness from your ballot. ;)

Um... I'll let my previous post on the top 25 board speak for me...

Eau Claire and Stevens Point used to be big rivals, especially in their NAIA days.  Wednesday, Point beat Eau Claire for the 19th straight time.

I still think there's plenty of rivalry between Point and Eau Claire...  I remember when this streak started, back in 01-02.  It was actually Coach Bennett's first victory at the Zorn (it was his 6th try).  Since that year, though, it's been all Point, and EC hasn't finished higher than 5th and hasn't had a winning record in the league.

01-02 T 8th (missed conference tournament)
02-03 6th
03-04 8th
04-05 6th
05-06 8th
06-07 8th
07-08 7th
08-09 5th

I've got no love for the Blugolds... I can find it in my heart to root for just about every other WIAC team (even Platteville, which has been a stretch), but I haven't shed a tear for the recent plight of Eau Claire!

EC is currently in a 4-way tie for 4th in conference at 4-5.  Personally, I would forgo putting them 25th (or 24th for that matter) but that's for you to decide.

But would I give you crap?  For certain!

Mr. Ypsi

Three ballots in already - and an oddity (probably of interest only to me): no #25s so far are orphans! ;)  There's so far an orphaned 20, 21, 22, two 23s, and a 24, but all 3 25s were listed on another ballot (even yours, HF ;D).

And only two ballots have any team more than 5 spots from one or another of the others (the orphaned 20, of course, plus one other).  Though my gut hunch is the orphaned 21 and 22 would also be more than 5 spots away from the other two.

At least for these first three, a rough consensus seems to be there despite the losses of the last two weeks.

Mr. Ypsi

Six ballots now in, and some VERY tight races!  There is a tie for 6th, and 4 teams within ONE point of each other for the final spot in the top ten.

It's been several hours now since anyone has made me work - I'm bored! ;D

Mr. Ypsi

Woo Hoo - 12 ballots ties the PP record! ;D

There's still over 18 hours to break it!

The official poll is out now.  There are only three teams I didn't name in my poll and all three of the ones I replaced them with are in the top 6 of ORV.  I feel like I'm either selling out or right on the mark.  Not sure which.
